May is almost behind us, so I though I should sneak our April Little Things video in, before it's time to share our moments from this month. I think I told you in another post that April was a beast -- it's usually May that overwhelms me, with all of the end of the year parties and activities, but April was filled to the brim. We were trying to get everything squared away to close on our house, we were finishing up dance competition season, and celebrating a birthday for my favorite nine year old. I didn't catch as much on camera as I wanted to this month, but these are a few of my favorite moments from the month. ...

March Little Things
I'm a little behind on sharing our monthly videos, but I couldn't bear to skip it altogether?! March was such a fun month and watching these clips again made me so ready for our annual summer camping trip -- we're only one month away! Since I look at Polly everyday, it's sometimes hard to see the nuanced changes that happen over the course of a few weeks. I'm challenging myself to take more videos of the girls this year and it has been so fun to watch them grow so much over such a short period of time. Even the subtle changes in Polly's diet and eating habits are so much more obvious here. We hope you're enjoying these tiny glimpses into our home and very normal, every day life. April's video will be up soon! ...
February Little Things
I might have smiled my way through this video today -- it perfectly captures what life was like in our home this month. There were lots of snuggles, puzzles, board games, and new foods to try! I'm still struggling to blog with any regularity, but I am taking so many photos and videos of our family each month and these little monthly videos are so much fun to share. My life is a little frazzled right now and can feel very overwhelming sometimes. We are trying to slow down and really enjoy this season, and that means more board games and less to-do lists. I hope you enjoy these little glimpses inside our home. ...
January Little Things
I've been saying for years that I wanted to take more video of our girls, but I haven't been the best about following through. Now that I have a camera that takes great video, and is super easy to use, I don't really have any excuses for not getting out more often. One of my resolutions for 2019 (even though I haven't even told you about them yet?!) was to film more clips of our every day life and share them in a monthly vlog. I didn't take as much in January as I wanted, but I'm already doing so much more for February, now that I see how easy it was and how much I love the finished product. These clips are probably more fun for me than for you, but I hope you'll enjoy watching our lives unfold a little more this year. ...
Sophie’s Third Grade Interview
I shared Ella's back-to-school interview on the blog yesterday, but little sister's is just as wonderful to watch! While eight years old was a rough year for Ella, Sophie seems to be thriving. She is hilarious and so thoughtful and she has the most sensitive spirit. I think she's been looking forward to ruling elementary school without a big sister on campus and her first few days have been wonderful. She's changing classes for the first time -- she has three teachers this year -- is separated from her best friends from last year, and has moved to the front hall, which she sees as a very big deal. She got all of her hair cut off on Sunday and after three whole days of loving it, she woke up yesterday with a much different attitude. She slept on a wet head, making it stand on end, ...
Finding Our Christmas Tree | Vlog
Two days of video in a row?! Who am I even? I know everyone has their own holiday traditions and, whether they are super simple or over-the-top extravagant, they are each so special. One of things I look forward to the most is Black Friday -- and let me assure you it has exactly zero to do with shopping. Unless, of course, you count the tree! We all slept in on Friday morning. Thanksgiving was exhausting and we all stayed up a little late. I was the first to get up and then both girls trailed down the stairs about thirty minutes apart. Finally, Josh was up around 8:30 and declared that we should be dressed and ready for breakfast by 9 o'clock. Nothing like good food to get the girls ready in a hurry. Of course, Sophie cried because she didn't have any Christmas pajamas, Ella was ...
The Log House Vlog | Episode One
It's been just over eighteen months since we publicly shared our decision to buy by childhood home. We talked through so many other options before arriving at this one, but after living here (again) for the last seven weeks, it's hard to imagine we considered anything else. There hasn't been a single day where it hasn't felt like home, I haven't accidentally driven to the wrong house, and it turns out that living with your parents can be down right fun if you let it! I haven't shared too much about our move since closing on the Rock House, but I've been hoarding lots of details and I wanted to share them with you before our renovation begins next year. I'm going to play this like a Q&A, so pretend these are answers to all of your burning questions, okay? We haven't unpacked ...
Camp Ella Birthday Party Recap | Vlog
I knew today's Blogtember prompt was to share a vlog, so I had planned to take plenty of video from Ella's party for you. When I got to the barn that afternoon, I realized that my video camera didn't have a memory card inside, so I had to use my big girl camera for both video and photographs. It was hard toggling back and forth while trying to monitor the party and keep everyone happy, but I'm super happy with how it turned out. I've been saying for actual years that I was going to start sharing more video here and now that I finally know how to edit and make it all pretty, that might actually happen. How excited are you? No, really... HOW excited?! This was the most atypical birthday party that I've ever thrown and simultaneous the most fun. If you've been reading here for any amount ...
