I'm thankful that yesterday I had over 100 wishes / messages / emails / phone calls / hugs / songs to celebrate my birthday. I'm thankful that when I walked in the back door Sophie yelled "It's YOU birthday!" and did a little jig. I'm thankful that my mom made my most favorite dinner and that I got some pretty special gifts. I'm thankful that Ella monopolized the dinner conversation as usual. I'm thankful that I'm really only 33, even though I spent the entire day thinking I was 34. I'm thankful that I left my parents' house with a to-go plate for lunch today, may the carb-fest never end! I'm thankful that I came home with my precious family to our little rock house. I'm thankful that no matter how high the thermostat reads, it's always a little chilly in the fall and winter. I'm thankful ...

A Two-Post Kind of Day
Does your heart beat a little faster when you get a package in the mail? Mine does... especially when it is something that I didn't order myself. That has happened to me twice this week. Today, however, might have been the best. When I saw this box on the kitchen counter at my parents' house I knew it was going to be a good one... When I opened the box and saw this, it was confirmed. please excuse this awful picture... it is awfully gloomy outside and I tried multiple locations before giving up. you women who take your own belly pictures deserve kudos!! A week or so ago, my Aunt Lane {who lives in Kentucky and supplies us with all of those lovely Thyme Baby lotions and potions} emailed me about what I needed or wanted for the baby. I told her several practical things that we ...
I’m Thankful
This Thanksgiving I have an awful lot to be thankful for. Salvation. Liberty. My precious family. A baby on the way. A little house with heat and warm beds. A full belly. There are many more things to look forward to and be thankful for. A parade and sausage balls. Thanksgiving dinner and yummy desserts. Cards and games. Out of town friends and relatives. Early morning shopping. Football games. Rivalries. IHOP. Christmas tree hunting. Holiday decorations. Sonograms. Baby names. Seeing Santa. Scout the elf. I love this season and can't wait to savor every moment. I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends. I can't wait to see your pictures and share all of our adventures. See you next week! ...
A Cinderella Thank You
We received a care package from Aunt Lane this week and Ella couldn't have been happier. There was a vintage high-chair for Jaz, Mickey Christmas ornaments and stickers, lavender scented lotion, bath wash and diaper cream and most importantly a Cinderella bank. ...

breakfast at the beach on Sunday Tonight we watched American Idol, cause that's what we do. All the while I was recording Lost in the other room to savor while Ella slept {it was fab by the way}. During the commercials we were eating grapes and loving on Beemer. Ella reminded me that Beemer was her favorite and I could be second. But not first. Conversations with her are always so funny; it was at that moment I decided on the interview. The following questions and answers are to the best of my memory. M: Who is your favorite person? E: Beemer M: What is your favorite TV show? E: Mickey Mouse M: What is your favorite color? E: TV Show M: No, color... you know... red, yellow, green? E: Blue M: What is your favorite food? E: Donuts M: What is your favorite outfit? E: ...
Thankful
As evidenced by this photograph, we spent a lot of time naked on vacation. Let me rephrase that, Ella spent a lot of time naked on vacation. Any time we returned to our room to change clothes, whatever the reason, as soon as I took the last item she would say, "Can I be naked?" Of course you can, that is what vacation is for! We just kept the thermostat cranked up and she ran around in a pull-up for three days. Tonight before bed, I snuggled Ella into her room under a sheet, sweater blanket and two quilts. I turned her heater on and gave her two bunnies. She told me both of her bible verses for this month {Psalms 139:14 and 34:1} and said her prayers. At the suggestion of a great friend I asked her what she was thankful for. She immediately said, "God" because that is her standard ...
Family Fun Day
As always, we celebrate Thanksgiving with Josh's parents the Sunday after and his mom is an excellent cook! Josh & I both had prior obligations for the afternoon that we couldn't miss out on, so we missed church this morning to go over a little earlier. His brother was picking our niece up at 11:30, so we got there just in time to spend the day with her! We don't get to see her as often as we'd like, so it was fun to see the girls playing so hard together. Ella talked about her all morning and was quite excited to see her arrive. Beth, Patrick & Alston {our honorary siblings and nephew} joined us for lunch, too! Ella & Bella were like little scavengers standing at Josh's chair and alternating bites of his Thanksgiving feast. It was so sweet. We tried fixing them both their own ...
