Thanks to two dance competitions, Easter, and a birthday party in April -- my reading time was minimal. I had a great stack of books on my bedside table for much of the month, but I barely made it through the first chapter of the one on top. The only physical book that I read this month was for our Collaboreads link party and I read it in a single sitting early in the month. The others were audiobooks crammed into fifteen minute painting sessions and extra long morning commutes. I know that summer will bring much more reading time and since May will be spent finishing up our camper reno, I'm going to ...

Who is ready for some fantastic book recommendations for the month? They weren't all five stars, but they were all highly enjoyable! There wasn't a book this month that I wouldn't recommend over and over. Read the Amazon descriptions carefully, a few of these titles might not appeal to my audience at large and may cover some topics you aren't interested in delving deeper into. Book of the Month Club is running a fantastic special right now, so if you're interested in trying out their service FOR $1 DOLLAR, click here. What I Read in February

I had so many good books in my stack this month, but I still managed to download an audiobook after discovering a novel written way back when I was in elementary school. I don't remember ever hearing anything about it before a few weeks ago, so it was fun to read something without any preconceived notions. Our travels earlier this month helped beef up my total number of books this month, as well as plenty of time running after we returned. I'm trying to get into listening to books while I exercise instead of listening to music, since it makes me feel so much more productive! I still love how ...

What I Read in January

Not only am I recapping last month's reads today, but I wanted to fill you in on my reading goals for 2017. It is virtually impossible to read much more than I did last year, simply due to my current season of life. Instead of focusing on a year long goal, I want to make sure I'm reading more consistently on a regular basis. This year, I'm going to aim for four books a month and make sure at least one of them is nonfiction. In my review post each month, I'll tally up the total for that month as well as offer an overview on how the entire year is going. Let's dive right in! I love how Leah is ...

Do you want to know how excited I am to co-host the first Collaboreads of the new year?! Amber and Rachel started this virtual book club way back in May of 2015 and it's been one of my favorite places to link up ever since. This book lover's link-up isn't restrictive, and joins great books with even better bloggers, and creates a wonderful space for conversation. I love that the prompts are open ended, meaning you can be as literal or as figurative as you'd like. We'll pick the theme, you'll pick the book, and then we'll all link up at the end of the month. Sounds fun, right? This month's ...

What Should I Read Next?

It's been an entire year since I decided to read a book for every week of the year and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I read so many more books than I have in years past and I really expanded the types of books I was reading. I voluntarily picked up nonfiction (whoa), I started listening to audiobooks, and I even read a few new-to-me classic novels. I knew that I wanted to share a yearly recap, but I doubted anybody wanted a list of all 52 books I tackled. I decided, instead, to mirror the format of one of my favorite podcasts: What Should I Read Next? If you're a reader and not already ...
