Mother's Day was wonderful. I got breakfast in bed and made some home videos. Ella made me pretty pictures in Sunday School and Children's Church. We went to church twice and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Time was spent with our sweet mommies. I had McDonald's for lunch and a DQ Blizzard for dinner. The girls were wonderful and we got a long afternoon nap. Today, we've been lazy. We had pigs in a blanket for breakfast and watched movies in our pjs. Ella & Sophie have been sleeping since noon. We were going to plant flowers, but it rained. I'm looking forward to cooking bacon and eggs for dinner. And to seeing SD, after a long day with no adult conversation. It's nice to be stationary, but I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be a "get up and go" ...

Sporadic
Sorry for the sporadic posting the last few days, but our house has been a bit of a whirlwind. I went to the doctor last Wednesday for my weekly visit and for the first time this entire pregnancy, Sophie wasn't measuring as she should. Instead of measuring 36 weeks, my belly was closer to 34 weeks and it caused my overly-cautious doctor {which I appreciate} some concern. My doctor was sure the measurements were off because of her position and nothing more, but I had an ultrasound and non-stress test that day to see how things were going. The ultrasound showed her to be 5 pounds and 15 ounces, putting her in the 24% percentile over all for height and weight. According to my doctor, anything between 10% and 90% is considered normal, but we wanted to take a better look at her just in case. ...
Ella Cam 1.0
So, Ella got a Fisher Price digital camera for Christmas and she's been snapping away since then. Apparently, it was set on the lowest resolution {so excuse the super-poor quality}, but the pictures were hilarious. Josh downloaded them for me this week and there were 300+ photos of the funniest things. At least we know what's most important to her lately. ...
Things I Learned Today {or was reminded of}
1. I love petit fors; especially when they are a surprise from sweet friends at work. 2. Ella "thought" she loved petit fors, but quickly learned she was wrong! 3. I love being pregnant, but I'm tired and ready for Sophie to get here. 4. Sophie is low. Really low. As in, the doctor said she's pretty sure she's lower than Ella was after 10 hours of labor when we decided on a C-section. 5. I have made no progress towards delivery, which is a good thing. I'm holding out for the 14th. 6. Sophie weighs 5 lbs and 15 ounces today. She is measuring a little small for 36 weeks and her estimated weight at delivery is around 6.5 pounds. 7. Only Sophie's lips and chin are discernible by ultrasound at this point... she is too low to get on film. 8. Ella really LOVES hearing SK's ...
I wish…
I wish I were doing this all day today, but I'm not. Instead, we're spending this beautiful day at the zoo, picking up {a reserved copy... yay!} of New Moon from Redbox this afternoon and making cheeseburgers for dinner. Pray that I survive and I'll have lots of pictures to share. Happy Saturday! ...
Around the House.
This post is completely unimportant, but I had a really cute picture to share and a really tiny nursery update, so I thought I'd just jumble a whole bunch of stuff together into one post. We watched the Super Bowl last night with lots of my family and yummy food and cheered on the Saints (congrats, Chris!). It was fun, but we got home right at bedtime and had a time getting Ella to settle down. We finally went to bed before she was completely down for the count, so we left her door open. Josh got up at some point and we he came back to bed he sent me to Ella's door to see this. Beemer looks like that because the blinking flash woke her up. How adorable are they? We've been trying to convince the dog to sleep with her for months, so maybe the key is to close our door and leave ...
Embarrassing.
First, let me say that this picture is completely unrelated to the post. I just thought this shot of Ella from New Year's Day was funny. This is all she did all day - she really wanted a pallet! Anyway, onto the embarrassing part. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior when I was seven years old. I also love to read. You could infer from these two statements that for these reasons I have clearly read the bible. Well, I haven't. No matter that I can read a work of fiction in a single day, I have a horrible problem with non-fiction. I cannot focus when I read it. It doesn't matter how I divide it up, or if I reread the same paragraph ninety-five times. I don't absorb it and I give it up. This has been particularly difficult because our Sunday morning bible study class is a book study ...
Game Time!
Yes, I know it is January 6th. Yes, I know I haven't officially finished recapping Christmas (final round to come!). BUT, I've been busy cleaning house, organizing, working on Sophie's nursery and nesting. I'll get it finished; I promise. In the meantime, I thought I'd share a few pictures of the million games we got and played over Christmas. We are a game playing family and Ella is learning quick. She has had a few games since her birthday and is pretty good at them, actually. We decided to add to her collection over Christmas and she managed to spank us in all of them! Not pictured: Hello Kitty Bingo, Fancy Nancy card game and Old Maid. The adults also managed to squeeze in Taboo, Shang-Hai, Rook and Trivial Pursuit. Competitive, anyone? ...
