Let's catch up. First on the list is an apology. Man, I've been missing from the blogging world for a bit. Can you say busy? I finally bit the bullet and bought an iPhone. All I have to say about that is life-changing. I cannot believe I held out so long, but I'm kind of thankful that the old LG bit the dust. I designed and ordered the cutest personalized cover for my phone and I am SO happy with it. I wish they were cost-effective enough to offer them in the shop, but I'm worried no one really wants to spend $50-55 on a phone cover... even if it is cute. Sophie is a grown woman. Seriously. She has the cutest round teeth on top and is the sassiest thing you've ever seen. She touches everything, empties trash cans, eats bugs and smiles while being defiant. It's exhausting, ...

How About a List?
SD went to the Alabama basketball game tonight, so it was just us girls. We had a quiet night with Chipotle for dinner and Teen Mom is currently paused in the bedroom. I'm about to snuggle in and enjoy. My mom took some pictures of the girls today in these new outfits she made. They are staying with her this week for spring break and it's great because I get to hang out with her in the afternoon AND she makes them tons of clothes. It's a win/win. The outfit on Ella will be in Garan's shop very soon - you can click the button in the sidebar to visit her and purchase some goodies. Sophie is getting to keep hers for the birthday party. Speaking of birthdays, the invitations arrived today and I cannot wait to share them. My plan for the party has evolved a lot over the last few months, ...
to tell you the truth
After seeing a similar post on a friend's blog, I started to think about the things that we often hide from one another. I've been learning a lesson on transparency and how rewarding it can be. I am so far from perfect, but I find myself only blogging when I have something nice to say. Something important, or pretty, or exciting. It's far rarer that I post the mundane, embarrassing and uninteresting things. To tell you the truth, sometimes I'd rather pretend to be perfect, but the posts that I enjoy the most in my reading time are those that are so brutally honest that they make me feel so much better about my beautiful disaster. So here goes… brutal honesty about where I am today and where I hope I’m going! To tell you the truth: I’ve only blogged three previous times this month. ...
A New Day, A New Year
Well, it's my first post of the year and I'm going to try and start this one off right. I have had a wonderfully lazy week at home with my girls and now it's time to return to the real world. I am about to clean house, balance the old checkbook and get myself organized for Monday morning. I am notorious for abandoning New's Years resolutions, but there are some definite things I want to change this year. I'm trying not to categorize them as resolutions, necessarily, but goals that I'd really like to accomplish this year. So, in an effort towards transparency and having lots of blog friends to hold me accountable, these are the things I'm shooting for this year. Short Term Goals: "BE" with my children more. Not necessarily in the same room with them, but on the ground with them: ...

Bunny and I are cooking up a pretty fantastic Christmas surprise for Ella this year. Now you only have to wait twenty-five more days to find out what it is! ...
Can We Discuss?
How happy this bridge makes me on my morning commute? I promise I was pretty careful shooting this on my way into work. I didn't even look through the camera and was very surprised to see that I actually caught it. I've been admiring it for over a week, but never managed to have my camera handy. I finally planned for it and snapped early last week. It always makes me smile. How wonderful it is that Ella can sometimes feed Sophie breakfast? Sometimes Ella loves to help and other times she acts completely put out. She and her daddy had requested pigs-in-a-blanket the morning this was taken and it's kind of hard to feed her and accomplish anything. Ella volunteered to feed her some fruit and cereal and boy was it a huge help. If I could convince her to change diapers we would be in ...

Day in the Life
So, one of my favorite bloggers shared a "day in the life" post earlier in the week and I loved it. I though maybe I should try that. Unfortunately, I picked the most boring day know to man. Sorry about that! 5:26 - Woke up eleven minutes later than I meant to. I can blame this on the fact that Sophie woke up at 11:18, 12:30 and 3:45. She's teething and uncomfortable, so my usually good sleeper is a bit restless. 6:00 - I'm out of the shower and hear a little birdy talking and cooing from her crib. Maybe if I ignore her for a bit, she'll stay happy. I wake Ella up, put her clothes on the couch and turn cartoons on. She has instructions to get dressed or the TV is going off. We have to do what works on mornings that daddy isn't here. He is in charge of getting the girls up and at em ...
