So this post should've gone up yesterday, but everything about Monday was a bust. My car wouldn't start, so I rode to Ella's program at school with Josh and assumed we'd get everything in working order when we got back. We had thirty minutes between her assembly and her lunch, so we flew home to jump my car off and so that Josh could get back to work. He got a teleconference call as we pulled into the drive and didn't get to worry with my car right away. I ended up driving his truck back to the elementary school and having lunch with my girl. When I got home he told me that he couldn't get it cranked, so I was stranded at home. Let me interject that I am sick as a dog and that I had a HUGE project at work due yesterday. I had planned to be in the office by noon and work late until it was ...

Project 365: Week 42 // Weekend Recap
10/14: Enjoying Cracker Barrel for dinner after our terribly lazy Sunday. Sophie loves playing the peg game and SD & Ella worked all of the puzzles in the menu. 10/15: I didn't take a single picture, but we FINALLY got DirecTV installed and I'm happy to say The Walking Dead has been watched in this house. 10/16: I went into work a minute late so I could take the girls to school and one of the benefits was seeing this precious face. 10/17: My mid-week, long run -- five miles at 12 minutes or under on my lunch break. Thank goodness for locker room showers! 10/18: Josh has had this Pearl Jam song on the brain for the last few days and wouldn't stop singing/humming it. I finally broke down and listened to the whole album on my way home from work. Then I realized that it came out my ...
Project 365: Week 41 // Weekend Recap
I'm thinking about doing my P365 posts a little different for the remainder of the year. I don't love to blog on the weekends and I have a hard time remembering to post them on Sundays (like I still need to go back and post last week's photos!) and it's hard to schedule them ahead of time since the photos aren't even complete until sometime on Saturday. I'm thinking a Monday weekly/weekend recap might be in order. 10/8: I made a quick run to Krispy Kreme before church on Sunday morning. Everyone thought it was a big deal that I drove twenty minutes in the opposite direction before church, but they are so much better when they're fresh! We had breakfast in Bible study and our oven was on the fritz. What's a girl to do? 10/9: Ella had her first official kindergarten field trip. They ...
Project 365: Week 40
9/30: I have a bit of an obsession with lip balm. I'm pretty sure I've discussed Baby Lips with you before, but I'm equally enamored with EOS. I have a couple more of these in different "flavors" and they are scattered around my life: bedside, makeup bag, purse, desk, car. You get the drift. 10/1: This is what the littles had for dinner on the first of the month: turkey, string cheese, tortilla strips, carrots, bananas and applesauce. They like to call this a "variety plate." 10/2: Bedtime at 9:31 is never a bad idea! 10/3: I splurged on fries at McDonald's and they were not good. Cold and undercooked is not how I eat my potatoes. Not cool. 10/4: Sophie was just about the cutest thing ever in the bathtub that night. All smiley and cooperative. Her hair is getting so long and I'm in ...
Project 365: Week 39
Well, it took me blogging Project 365 updates 11 days in a row over the last two weeks to finally catch up, but I did it. And I don't plan to be falling behind any time soon. I'm tired of not blogging. I miss the interwebs. So, here is the first of many "regularly scheduled" P365 posts! Sunday, September 23 (Day 257): I finally finished my third Gillian Flynn book on Sunday and I'm sad that there aren't any more available. I love her writing style and the endings are completely unexpected. I need to read more books like this. Any suggestions? Monday, September 24 (Day 258): The cleaning chart. I know ya'll are surprised to hear that this was Josh's idea and that he laid it out in Excel for me. I did do a little color/border tweaking on Monday morning before I printed it, but that's ...
Project 365: Week 38
Sunday, September 16 (Day 251): I stayed up late watching E.T. The Extra Terrestrial with my two best girls. We didn't get to finish it in one sitting, but they were very intrigued. They kept asking questions and were very concerned that "the man with the keys" was going to get him! Monday, September 17 (Day 252): I started Gillian Flynn book number two. So addicted to her writing. It's too bad there are only three! Tuesday, September 18 (Day 253): Ella got a few Vera Bradley bags for her birthday, but needed a cute tag with her name on them. I ordered clear, plastic luggage tags, downloaded an image of the pattern (Va Va Bloom) and whipped these up. Now I think I need to make some for me! Wednesday, September 19 (Day 253): Traffic wasn't moving AT. ALL. Need I say ...
Project 365: Week 37
Sunday, September 9 (Day 250): We had Ella's big birthday bash the Sunday before her birthday this year. She wanted a cowgirl party and it was a blast! Monday, September 10 (Day 250): This was one of those days when you're chained to your desk. I ate with one hand while I pounded out spreadsheets with another, all the while reviewing documents with a second set of eyes. Busy. Tuesday, September 11 (Day 250): Ella turned six and we took her out for breakfast before school. Josh had a football game that night and we wanted to eat at least one meal together, so we had biscuits and Dr. Peppers. For the win! Wednesday, September 12 (Day 250): Before Bible study, I met K for dinner at a new Italian place and it was delish. Thursday, September 13 (Day 250): I had a big box of graphic ...
Project 365: Week 36
Sunday, September 2 (Day 245): We spent most of the day in the airport trying to get back home from Texas. We passed the time with snacks, books and several episodes of LOST. We were exhausted by the time we reached Birmingham, but we had such a great time. Monday, September 3 (Day 246): You've already seen the results of The Color Run, but I had Kathleen snap this super sexy picture of me afterwards. Can you say drowned rat? Tuesday, September 4 (Day 247): Yikes, again?!?! Wednesday, September 5 (Day 248): Before Bible study, I ran to Target to pick up Ella's birthday present. A group of us went in together to surprise her with an iPod Touch. It was the only thing she asked for this year! Thursday, September 6 (Day 247): But I did manage to snag her these super cute pink skinny ...
