Each week, I share a series of baby bump photos on Instagram + Instagram Stories, and then later post them here as a part of my monthly bumpdate series. I've had a few questions here, but so many people have asked on Instagram, how I'm managing to take them myself, make them look like I have a massive white wall, and keep them all so consistent. I hesitate to share a true tutorial, because everyone's homes are different, we don't all have the same photography equipment or skills, and the majority of us don't have a white wall with perfect lighting. Instead, I thought I'd show you how I pull off this weekly ...

Links + Loves | What’s In My Hospital Bag
This post contains affiliate links, meaning any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. Here’s another one of those baby centric posts that not everyone will appreciate, but for those of you who are also trying to pack a hospital bag, you need this as much as I would! Plus, who doesn’t love being nosy and peeking inside someone else’s luggage?! I haven’t added toiletries to my bag yet, but I’m still using those on a daily basis. I have packed everything else on my list, so in an emergency, I could throw my makeup bag on top and head for the hospital. If you follow along on Instagram, you might have seen my stories about what bag to pack. I’ve gone back and forth about buying a pretty ...
Wishing, Waiting + Nesting
The last year has been weird. When we moved into our home, I had huge expectations for how the following months and years would go, and honestly? Nothing has worked out quite like I expected. I'm a big fan of letting God lead us where we're called, whether that is to big plans or small plans or no plans at all. I thought we would purchase our home within a few months of moving and that surely we would be fully renovated and settled in and starting a new chapter of life with our big kids. I never expected to still be sharing this home with my parents or to completely change our plans when it comes to renovating or to be expecting another baby, yet here we are. To be clear, I couldn't be any happier than I am today. I'm just surprised out how everything has unfolded over the last eighteen ...
Gender Prediction: Putting 24 Old Wives’ Tales to the Test
The biggest pregnancy related question we get -- especially from strangers -- is if we're having a boy or a girl. I wasn't sure how well I would thrive under the pressure of not knowing, but this has honestly been one of our favorite parts of this pregnancy. I think not knowing has shifted the focus from gender specific topics and allowed us some amount of relaxation during the waiting. We don't have a nursery planned yet (baby will sleep in our room for the foreseeable future anyway), we have a very loose list of names to choose from, and we've spent our money on necessities rather than bows or truck printed onesies. I feel sure we'll still get plenty of gender specific items once baby arrives, but I love that we've been able to think less about what this baby is and more about who this ...

I received free product to facilitate this post -- all opinions are my own. This post also contains affiliate links, meaning any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. When we had Ella, I knew that we were planning to have more children in the future. Josh and I always wanted a big family and thought we would have at least three children. We often joke about how naïve we were and how funny it is when non-parents make grand statements about what they will or will never do! Not only did we register for every single thing available on the baby market, but we kept all of those things for subsequent children. I had a plastic container for every size that she ever wore and a few more filled with gear ...
On Expanding Our Family

I've been pretty transparent about how this pregnancy took us all by surprise, but I haven't really put my thoughts about that into words. We had found this very comfortable place, where we had established routines and habits and were embracing the predictable nature of life, but maybe that was the problem. I know that everyone's journey to parenthood is different and what feels devastating within our own circumstances and contexts, seems like a walk in the park to someone else. When Josh and I first starting planning for a family, I had this notion that it would all come very quickly and work according to a ...
A Year of Surprises
Are you sitting down? Because you are going to need to stop what you're doing to make it through this post. Remember when this used to be a straight-up mom blog and we talked about daily life, little kid milestones, and everything in between? At some point, the girls grew up and we had to start sharing different parts of our lives and learn to relate to our readers in completely different ways. I had no intentions of returning to our roots, but you know what they say about the best laid plans. It looks like Taz + Belly is getting an old-school reboot in the form of baby number three?! I've been the very worst blogger this year, but it is not without its reasons. We discovered several weeks ago that we had made a significant error in calendar calculations and despite our perceived ...
