Today we were lucky enough to tag along with K while she did a newborn session for our sweet Lake. We were in need of some time with our besties, since we haven't seen them since they've been home from the hospital. Ella's daddy even gave her a hard time this morning about getting all dressed up for her "boyfriend." In a few more weeks, we'll have plenty of time for play-dates {although we might be lacking in energy!} for the littles and the bigs. This time, we settled for brief conversation while Ella & Grey made a huge mess building a "fork" and we watched Lake play sweetly for his pictures. We had such fun! This was Ella's excited face... right before she got to practice her big sister skills on a sleepy, baby Lake. She was just itching to get her hands on him! And ...
Kamin
Meet Dolly.
It isn't at all unusual for K to bring prizes when she comes to visit. She brings flashcards and games and last week she brought us matching pink aprons to wear while we bake Valentines goodies. Ella is always excited when K calls and says she has presents! This week, it was Dolly. A friend at work just opened an etsy shop and K was photographing the lovely merchandise. She was sweet enough to send a gift for Ella and once we know what color hair our Sophie is going to have, she'll have a Dolly, too! We were excited she was a ballerina and thought long and hard about what to name her. After mommy shot-down Widget, Ella settled on Dolly. I think it suits her just fine. ...
Christmas in the Park
A few weeks before Thanksgiving, Kamin took us to Linn Park for a family photo shoot. They all turned out so beautiful, but I haven't had a chance to share them with you yet! One of them is on our Christmas card, so I'll save that one for later {even though our cards are less than stellar this year, due to a certain little someone}. In the meantime, these are a few of my favorites. Hope you enjoy! Click here to see just how talented our sweet Kamin is. ...
Holiday Confusion
I'm listening to Christmas music on the radio and it isn't even Thanksgiving yet. Not to mention I'm swooning over photos from our visit to the pumpkin patch just before Halloween. I'm having serious holiday confusion. Can you blame me? Aren't these gorgeous? These are the "official" pumpkin patch photos courtesy of my lovely sister, Kamin. ...
Lovely
Any guesses on what we were doing here? And to answer a question left in the comments of the previous post, I take all pictures with a Canon Digital Rebel XT and the lovely lense that came with it. I am not a fabulous photographer, sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I get Photoshop. In general, if its gorgeous {like the one above}, sister K took it. Thanks for the flattery, though! ...
The Love of My Life
This is the love of my life. She is in her element... barefoot, fancy, giddy. As many of you already know, my sweet sister K had her twice annual special on Saturday and managed to squeeze her favorite {non-paying} sister in somewhere along the way. We appreciate so much, how often she gives her time so that we can have beautiful photographs of our little girl. Even though I wasn't first in line, she graciously sent a few photos for me to enjoy in the meantime. I won't lie, they brought tears to my eyes, especially the one above. I don't know what I would do without that fancy girl. ...
Birthday Girl
Today was K's 24th birthday. We celebrated with pool time, BBQ, the wedding video and ice cream sundaes. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Kamin, we love you! ...
Wedding Day
Try to ignore the fact that my hair looks weird in this picture and in general, I look LARGE and in charge. Also ignore the fact that K is hiding Bunny behind her back. Instead, focus on the VISION that is my sister! Again, let me remind you that I'm not the photographer in this family, nor is Emily, who took this picture {I love you, Emily}. I can't wait for you to see Jessica's pictures, because not only will the photography knock your socks off, but you'll get a much clearer picture of the awesomeness of my sister and her fabulous dress. Anyway, the point of this post was a little wedding-goodness recap. Remember how I said I was going to take lots of pictures so I could show you the festivities while we were waiting on the real thing? Well, don't be mad, but that didn't really ...
