I am so not prepared for you. Yes, there are still eleven weeks left until you find your way onto my calendar, but I usually start training in October. Here I am, eight whole weeks behind. The timing is funny because I asked Josh just a few days ago if it would make me a total wimp for not registering this year. I know myself, though, and I'll be profoundly disappointed. I'll mope about being that girl that ran it two years in a row and then turned into a quitter. Race Day // 2013 As fate would have it, our office decided to put together a men's and women's relay team to run the full marathon and I was asked to take the long leg. It's broken into 5 sections - two 3 mile legs, two 6 mile legs and an 8 mile leg. I tried to convince myself that I would be just as happy about the 8 mile leg ...

Mercedes 1/2 Marathon Recap // Take Two
This was my second year to run the Mercedes Half-Marathon and I really expected to do so much better than I did last year. My training started off really well, but was quickly derailed in December. My longest run before the race was terrible. It was the worst run I've ever had to date and I was very discouraged. The following week, I ran 8 miles and had very few problems. It is so ...

I'm incorporating some low-fat dairy into my daily diet and trying to eat potatoes only once a week or so. We are trying hard to cut out wheat completely, but don't be surprised if you see an occasional tortilla make the plate. Josh is being much more stringent than I am. He isn't drinking anything but water and is eating completely wheat and potato free. We're trying to incorporate recipes that fit those criteria for us, but can be modified with a few ingredients for the girls. We're working on their diets slowly and hoping that by making changes ...
