Saturday was a LOT of fun. I was particularly fond of my gameday outfit, which is always a plus! I drove to Tuscaloosa by myself and it was a nice, QUIET drive. We tailgated at my cousin's on-campus apartment, just moments from Bryant-Denny. I had fried cheese from the end-zone concession stand and a very large Coke. There was a fighter jet flyover just after the national anthem that was awesome. The pilots were in stadium later in the night and unbuttoned their jumpsuits to reveal Bama tees. After a frustrating first half, the boys redeemed themselves and SD starting shaking his keys at the UT fans. It was time for them to head home! We sang a rousing' round of Rammer Jammer after the game. {Please forgive my squealing at the end. the iPhone is notorious for ...

Family Weenie Roast
Is it weird that we have family weenie roasts? If it is, I am SO glad we're weird. My parents have a rock fire pit in the back yard with big tree stumps to sit on. We had chili and potato soup and giant sticks to roast weenies and marshmallows. Revelation of the night? Roasted marshmallows are sticky, just ask Sophie! ...
Alma Mater
Down Where Southern Skies are Brightest stands ole VHS. With her banner proudly waving in her Black and Gold. Sing her praises ever loyal, full of cheer and joy. Hail to thee, our Alma Mater, dear ole Vincent High! ...
cheering for the tide
We had fun last Saturday, cheering for our team and celebrating the last day of Ella's birthday week. She practiced her fake smile and was brave enough to ask another girl where she got her super-cute face stickers. Although these didn't last the whole game, she was pretty happy with them for awhile. We got to spend the day with our two favorite people, K & Cory. This is quite possibly my favorite football picture ever. Ella did a lot of snuggling and laying down in between cheering for the band, singing the fight song and hitting our neighbors in the head with a very excited red and white shaker. We're en route to these same red seats, anticipating cold Coke in a stadium cup, brand new shakers to start the day and another victory at Bryant Denny. Roll Tide! ...
Our Bed
As much as I would like to share a bed with my husband, only, this is what most evenings in our house look like. They might not all sleep in there every night or all night, but at some point in each week I am covered in limbs. Did I mention that we only have a queen sized bed and our dog weighs 95 pounds? Yeah. And in case you are having any trouble discerning what's really going on... my leg is hooked around SD to keep from falling off. The dog is ALWAYS on my side, behind my legs and stealing my covers. Sophie will only sleep on top of Josh and Ella is almost always laying sideways at the bottom of the bed, precariously close to the edge. And, yes. That "Ken" doll is actually Joey McIntyre of the musically talented New Kids on the Block. I had a very diverse musical library as a ...
Only a Month Late!
Now that it's time for school to start and schedules to be regulated, I'm missing our long and lazy days at the pool. It's hard to believe that Independence Day was over a month ago. It was probably my favorite family holiday of the summer. I love days where the girls are content to play with their cousins and I can spend some time with my sweet sister. We read a LOT and as you can see, drank plenty of DP. This girl feels the need to pose for every picture. It's making me dread the age of thirteen even more than I already was. She also decides to boycott the water from time to time and spent plenty of the afternoon coloring bricks on the pool walkway. These girls are such sweet buddies. UNTIL they've been together for about two hours. After that, Ella will tell me that she ...
Around Camp
Around camp we... played with our toys, learned some new games on the iPhone, doodled and crafted, read and drank Dr. Pepper, practiced our bike riding skills, went on wagon rides... over, and over, and over, we played in the dirt, and even hung out with our sweet daddy! ...
Sun and Sand
What's a vacation without the beach, right? I used to be one of those girls that could wake up and head to the beach at 7 o'clock and stay until sunset. Being a mom changes your schedule. Not only do we have to break for lunch and nap time, but I am considerably more hot natured post-pregnancy and need some air conditioning in my life! Since we have to drive to the beach, there is no "running up to the room" to fix a quick snack, we take it all with us. The Gulf State Beach Pavilion is our favorite beach in the state. It is beautiful and the facilities are so nice. I can remember for several years after Hurricane Ivan that we toughed it out with no real shade or restrooms and it is so nice to have a beautiful pavilion back. There are showers and restrooms, plenty of picnic tables and a ...
