Since you guys seem to like the "real" posts the most, I thought I'd start there with our Christmas recap. For those of you who are my friends on Facebook, you might have already seen an abbreviated version, but this still shouldn't disappoint. Let me start by saying we had a fabulous Christmas and we are still very much enjoying our wilted Christmas tree and lazy days at home together. I'm off work until next Tuesday and even though Josh is working (locked in the bedroom while we have fun without him), it's nice to eat breakfast and lunch with him and have a few moments throughout the day as he takes a break. The girls got everything they wished for this Christmas and it is all still strewn around the living room floor. This is the only week of the year when piles of toys and evergreen ...

Insta-Thanks
Our Thanksgiving was so wonderful and I was so busy enjoying the day with my little helpers that the camera was never by my side. Instead, I decided to give you a little recap with Instagram photos instead. I hope your holiday was as wonderful as ours! {kitchen helpers / big girl bed / early morning cartoons / sausage balls} {Macy's Thanksgiving Parade / silly girl / chocolate chewy bars / my full plate} {feeding herself / post-lunch football / plenty of leftovers / afternoon campfire} {girl time / playing outside / snuggling by the fire with mommy / impromptu family photoshoot} Believe it or not, Ella was in attendance, but she's so independent these days and spent the majority of her day outside with the big kids! ...

we peaked early
Let me go ahead and assure you that I'll be highly embarrassed by some of these pictures. At the same time, I can't bring myself to hide the fun we had because of a few poor judgment calls! The title of this post has nothing to do with our performance on the field that day. Instead, we found ourselves quite funny at six o'clock in the morning, our humor was spot on and we had way too much fun by the time we reached T-town. By contrast, at around 10:45 we were ready for a nap. We peaked early. The boys started out with a rousing game of football outside Justin's apartment. He lives on Wallace Wade, a stone's throw from Bryant-Denny Stadium and the perfect spot to tailgate. Thank goodness he doesn't mind when we crash his place for game day. I have NO idea what we'll do when he ...
Thirty-two Things
Thirty-two things I loved about my birthday. That at 7:30 on Friday night, I was sitting in a theater with my best friend of 32 years watching a movie made for teenagers. That we laughed until we cried and tried hard not to go home when it was over. That we talked about all of the "middle-aged" women who were there... only to realize the teenagers were probably saying that same thing about us! On our way to Chick-fil-A last night, in the dark, Sophie said "Happy Birthday to Momma", completely unprompted. A late-night texting conversation with Ryan last night re-hashing how much fun we had on Saturday. The second-hardest I've laughed in awhile. At 12:02 this morning, Sophie cried out and SD grabbed her up and snuggled her in bed with us. I got to sleep in this ...

Pumpkin Guts
Not long after church on Sunday evening, both girls were ready to dig into our pumpkins, very eager to help. They were not sure what they thought about the pumpkin guts. And certainly did NOT want to touch it or help in any way! Ella wanted to carve a face this year and picked a pattern out on the web. She even had a hand carving it herself! Didn't it turn out spooky and perfect? ...
Pumpkin Patch
Yes, I know it's November the 14th. We're just a little over a week away from Thanksgiving. In the interest of full disclosure I think it's only right that we recap Halloween first. What do you say? We were kind of late to the Halloween celebration this year. I don't know what is up with 2011, but I feel behind on just about everything. By the time I start thinking about a holiday it's practically over and we haven't even enjoyed it. Halloween was nothing different. We DID go to the pumpkin patch... the day before the big day! We loaded up after church that Sunday afternoon and spent a few hours enjoying the beautiful day. We ended up with three pretty pumpkins and two whiny girls. What's better, right? First up, the corn maze! It didn't take us long to cut through the side of the ...
