On Saturday night, I got to help throw a Mexican-themed housewarming shower for my brother-in-law and his bride to be. They just bought a new house and have been renovating for the last several weeks. Somehow I managed NOT to take a picture of the happy couple, but I did get some great snaps of the yummy nacho bar we served. Ashley, Me, Caycie (my future sis-in-law) and Beth our scrum-dilly taco/nacho bar we served pulled chicken and seasoned beef with soft shells and corn chips we had Texas Caviar and fresh salsa homemade guacamole, cilantro mayo, taco sauces and pico de gallo although I failed to photograph them, we also had a s'mores station and a margarita bar set up outside, alongside fun games of corn hole and washers for the boys to play while Caycie opened presents! a few ...

Pensacola, Round 2
Saturday is the day of the actual airshow (although Friday is exactly the same, it is technically the "dress rehearsal"). Crowds are heavier on Saturdays, you have to stake your spot on the beach at daybreak and you don't drive anywhere. If you plan on eating dinner on the island somewhere other than your condo, you should be prepared to walk there. Unfortunately, it was only after we paid $45 each for three sets of beach chairs that we realized it would rain. ALL. DAY. LONG. We packed it up about 30 minutes into the day and ended up doing lots of reading, cartoon watching and balcony sitting. The majority of the airshow was cancelled, although we heard on the radio the Blue Angels might do their low show a few hours late. Bummer. I had bought the girls super cute new patriotic bathing ...
Pensacola, Round 1
Last weekend we found ourselves at the beach again, only this time we were with Josh's parents - Nana & Grandpa Cookie. We left late Thursday afternoon and headed to Pensacola for the weekend to enjoy some sun and the Blue Angels airshow. Friday on the beach was GORGEOUS. Josh had to work inside most of the day, but he did get to venture out for lunch and came out again later in the afternoon to watch the planes fly. I didn't get any pictures of the stunt planes, since we were enjoying lunch on our balcony while watching them, but I did get some great ones once the Angels started flying. the view from my very cushy beach chair rental, courtesy of SD three pretty beach bums / ella, isabella & sophie some sand play while we were waiting for the planes sophie hung out in the ...
Vacation, Part 2
On Thursday of our vacation we spent most of the day at the pool. I wish we had a water park or splash pad closer to home, because these two girls loved it! There is a fence to keep them in and it is pretty impossible to drown. I laid my towel on the very edge and watched them run and play all morning. All of a sudden, Ella wants to pose everywhere. It is all I can do to keep a straight face while I'm snapping away. I swear she looks like a junior Victoria's Secret model?! Of course, we had to stop for snack more than once throughout the day! Friday was our last full day to spend in the sand. Everyone in my family came to the beach that day and it made for quite the sight. I wish I had taken a picture at sunset -- there were no less than five weddings taking place behind us ...

A Bunny Birthday
So, about that party... We were lucky enough that Sophie's birthday fell on a Saturday this year and even luckier that it was only a week after Easter. I decided that with all of the bunny goods on the market in the weeks leading up to her party, that an Easter-themed soiree was definitely the way to go. Then, after the she had such a great time hunting eggs on Easter morning, it was confirmed I had made the right decision! First up were invitations. I had them printed on linen paper and bought grey linen envelopes from a local paper supply shop. I originally wanted a pencil drawing of a bunny, but I just didn't have time to do one myself. Instead, I used a stock image of a bunny and filtered it in Photoshop to give it the look I wanted. They were so sweet and just what I was looking ...
Baseball
My girls love to be outside and they love sports. We all know this has nothing to do with me and everything to do with their daddy. This past Saturday was the alumni baseball game at our Alma Mater. It's a fundraiser for the current varsity team, which my brother-in-law helps to coach. They worked so hard to pull it off and we had a fabulous time at the ballpark. Not to mention, it's just across the street and makes for an awful easy commute! First up, we had to say hello to our daddy. He had just hit two out of the park in the Home Run Derby when we arrived. Sophie was pretty happy to talk with him through the fence. I just knew she would be a disaster at the park and into everything. I was surprised that she actually sat still the entire day (with only a few mishaps) and was MUCH ...
