Remember on Monday when I said I'd scan a few wedding photos for you? Well, since then I decided I may as well scan them all. I really wanted them on disk anyway. Unfortunately, the quality is less than stellar. I'm thinking about calling my photographer to see if the negatives can be converted to digital. It won't be as good as the real thing, but it can't be as bad as these! At the time of my wedding, my photographer did exactly what I asked. He was wonderful to work with and really put us at ease. I loved my wedding and my photos. Now that K is a photographer, I'm so jealous of her style of photography. I wish so much that mine were more documentary and less posed. In any event, it was the wedding of my dreams and I loved every detail. Although my wedding was much more ...

Wedding List
1. Daddy doesn't have black socks and opts for charcoal grey. They look ridiculous with his black pants and shoes. 2. Daddy's tux doesn't come close to fitting. We can both fit in the vest and the jacket looks like it was made for Ruben Studdard. I must admit, however, he's pretty handsome anyway. 3. Oldest ring bearer has a face-plant into the end of a church pew resulting in a rather large strawberry, bruise and cut to the cheek... right before pictures. 4. Flower girls beat their poor flower wreath headpieces to a pulp. Ella can't stand still enough to keep hers on. Addison refuses to wear hers down the aisle. 5. Ella announces to me during the wedding that she is "READY TO EAT, Mom!". In her defense, when I place my finger over my lip to quieten her, she whispers ...
Wedding Preview.
This wedding deserves a post of it's own. Maybe 20. The kids were hilarious and awful. Their mama's were horribly embarrassed, shaking with laughter and after it was all over, we were worn out. The pictures are in major need of editing {the lighting in the church was very low}, so I'll leave you with one sneak-peak and some indication of how the kids acted. Mine announced promptly after the prayer, while on stage, that she was "READY TO EAT!" Loudly. And the bride and groom's son started singing Happy Birthday. During the vows. Priceless. ...
Cookie
Did you know that my father-in-law's name is Cookie? Josh and I dated for almost six years before we got married. For approximately 2 of those years, I had no idea what his father's name was. I remember a conversation about looking up their number in the phone book and I laughed because I wouldn't even know where to begin. It's Frank, by the way... I finally got enough courage to ask. It dawns on me now that we've been together over twelve years at this point and I don't know why we call him Cookie. Maybe in a few more months I'll admit that, too. Cookie's fiftieth birthday was yesterday and we spent the afternoon hanging out in the yard, eating barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, dancing to sing-a-long birthday cards and stuffing ourselves silly with ice cream cake from DQ. It was a ...
Slumber Weekend
Molly spent the weekend with us and to help stave off boredom we took them to the Birmingham Zoo. It was a surprise and they were too excited! It was a nice day, weather wise, but we were worried that for that reason alone the zoo would be packed. Lucky for us, the crowds held off until after lunch and by then we were headed home for lunch and a nap. We knew we wanted to feed the giraffes, so we headed to the Savannah first to watch the animals near the giraffe exhibit until they opened. We saw lots of zebras, deer and tigers. While we were looking at the white tiger we kept hearing something roar. We laughed about how scary that would sound after dark. We walked around the corner and a male and female lion were laying around in the sun roaring at eat other. They were HUGE. Feeding ...
Nothing Fancy
Do you know about Dave Barnes? I've loved him for a long time. He's a Christian and has an amazing voice. One of my favorite DB songs is "Nothing Fancy." I haven't listened to it in a while, but tonight I was cleaning house to iTunes and it came on and reminded me of sitting in Ella's nursery humming the tune to her in the middle of the night. It perfectly describes how I feel about my family. "There's nothing fancy about the way I love you, It's nothing you could not find in any other man. Nothing fancy about the way I love you, but I love you as hard as I can. There's no good reason for the way you love me, 'cause your my walking dream come true. No good reason for the way you love me, but I thank God that you do. I don't know the perfect conversation, I don't know the ...
Red, White & Blue… Angels
Nana & Cookie have been talking to us about the Pensacola Air Show for years. We never really thought it sounded fun, but wanted to take Ella the summer after she was born. She was nine months old and loved not only the beach, but the Blue Angels. We've been spending the week after Independence Day in Pensacola ever since. Although the Angels fly for a little while almost every day, the show is on Saturday afternoon. Ella really wanted her picture made with the planes, so when the stunt planes started flying mid-morning, we took this photo. She is so excited here; I love it. This photo was taken as the Blue Angels first came into view. They were still very hard to see with the naked eye, but we were watching for them with our binoculars and telephoto lenses. We could tell ...
Beach Bums
Well... I took way too many pictures today and have lots to share. We're tired. And hungry. So instead of uploading those and telling you about our day, I'll leave you with these instead. ...
