Last year's Christmas card was full of snapshots from one of the best year's ever. It was only when I started to think about this year's card, that I realized we haven't taken family photos since right after Polly was born. We didn't make it to the beach this year and we have only done the bare minimum otherwise. I told my sister I wanted a casual family photo session at home and I couldn't be happier with how these turned out. We had an early morning session -- right before we met Santa on the farm -- and the day dawned grey and dreary. If we're being completely honest, there are rooms in my house with no photos at all and most of the frames in my office are filled with photos from Sophie's newborn session -- almost eight years ago. I had something completely different to share with you today, but then my sister sent me the album with our beach pictures last night and I just couldn't resist shifting things around a bit. Because she's an amazing photographer and because she's my sister, I have no shortage of beautiful photographs of my children's lives, BUT, this might be my favorite photo session of all time. It helps that we were happy as can be in our favorite place ever.
