So, Friday was my first official day at home with both girls by myself and it was so much fun. SD has been working some and getting out of the house for several hours at a time over the last week, but yesterday was the first day where he was gone when the girls and I got up and he wasn't home until after nap time. I was a little nervous about how we'd manage, but it turned out to be a very nice day and Ella was such a big helper. We started the day with blueberry muffins, snuggling in the floor watching Eloise at the Plaza. If you have little girls and haven't seen this movie, it is adorable. It is running on the Disney Channel right now and we've watched it three times! The girls must have looked awfully snuggly, because it wasn't long before Beemer joined in the fun. The ...

Learning Curve
There is definitely a learning curve with two kids and the bad news is I'm behind it. It is funny how going from no kids to one was an adjustment, but going from one to two is a complete lifestyle change. You are so used to what you can accomplish with just one and it doesn't dawn on you until it's too late that you need an extra pair of hands. I can hardly manage lunch and a bath before I get the girls down for nap. Ella has completely taken over the dog chores, because every time I sit down to nurse, Beemer scratches the front door. I have rarely looked appropriate for company and I'm constantly embarrassed by my state of dress, or lack thereof. On Thursday, I attempted an outing with both girls by myself. I needed to exchange a baby gift at a local boutique and wanted to drop a ...
Fashion Girl
Ella has recently taken to calling herself a "fashion girl", which is absolutely hilarious. We aren't really sure where she picked up the term, but coming from her it definitely puts a smile on your face. She prances around with tons of accessories, checks herself out in the mirror at every chance and doesn't hesitate to remind us how fashionable, adorable or precious she really is. There have been lots of changes around here over the last few weeks and Ella is definitely feeling the brunt of things. She keeps reminding me how different everything is, despite my best efforts to keep her life as normal as possible. Despite her emotions, she is adapting very well and loving on her little sister as often as we'll let her. Since she hasn't been featured prominently on the blog in the ...
Monday
On Monday, we got out of the house with all three girls. Even if it was in our yard, it was nice to see the sunshine after looking out of a tiny hospital window for three days. ...
A Sunday Drive
Much like with Ella, our first day at home brought a doctor's visit for sweet Sophie. Since she lost more than ten percent of her birth weight and was slightly jaundiced, we got up bright and early to dress two little girls and head back into town. Of course, Josh laughed that I took my camera with us, but what did he really expect? Luckily, our pediatrician's practice has an office open on Sundays and we got to see our favorite doctor there, Dr. Anderson. He has a fabulous bedside manner and Ella loves him. As usual, big sisters get star treatment, including extra Dora stickers. We weren't the only newborn waiting for a bilirubin check, so we all piled in the exam room and hung out for a bit. Ella counted airplanes out the window, Daddy acted silly and snuggled Sophie and we all ...
