Each week, I share a series of baby bump photos on Instagram + Instagram Stories, and then later post them here as a part of my monthly bumpdate series. I've had a few questions here, but so many people have asked on Instagram, how I'm managing to take them myself, make them look like I have a massive white wall, and keep them all so consistent. I hesitate to share a true tutorial, because everyone's homes are different, we don't all have the same photography equipment or skills, and the majority of us don't have a white wall with perfect lighting. Instead, I thought I'd show you how I pull off this weekly ...

Christmas Garland Tutorial
As much as I love living in our new home, sometimes I still miss the Rock House. It was quirky and, like all old homes, had it's flaws (like the cracks in the stucco that I artfully cropped out of these photographs), but it was so bright and was the most fun to decorate around the holidays. Last year, we put up a tree and added a few holiday touches to our kitchen, but it felt more like a transition than a settling in. This year, we're embracing our not-yet-renovated forever home, but I'm taking plenty of inspiration from our previous one. One of my favorite things we ever did, was to add fresh garland around our windows and the archway in our living room. Sure, we started with an inexpensive, wire garland from the dollar store, but you'd have a hard time spotting it beneath all of ...
Mini Kitchen Reveal with Grove Collaborative
This post is in collaboration with Grove Collaborative and Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day. I know what you're thinking -- she said she wasn't sharing her camper reveal until June, what gives? You guys have been so excited about our camper facelift, that I couldn't bring myself to make you wait any longer. I'll be saving the full before and after posts for early next month, but since the camper kitchen was looking so bright and shiny this morning, I had to share a few pretty pictures of what we've accomplished so far. When we started the camper renovation, I was flying by the seat of my pants. I knew I wanted to give her a little refresh, but I wasn't sure what exactly that would entail. I had no real plans for any construction projects (hello, gutted camper bathroom) and I hadn't yet ...
Weekend Update | Camper Edition
I had big plans to share a Weekend Update post this morning, but I never could get it together. Like most of America, I stayed up way too late watching the Oscar's last night and then even later scrolling through Twitter and reading the fallout from envelope-gate. Today was the worst day at work I've had in awhile and my kids were raging lunatics by the time I got home (let's face it: I was the real lunatic). So here we are with an evening post and almost no pictures from the actual weekend. We spent Saturday at IKEA with my family and while we took plenty of random selfies and photos of naps on IKEA mattresses, I didn't take a single photo for todays post. What do you say we just have a camper weekend update instead? Let me start by saying that I know my camper isn't cool or ...
Making Camp | Introduction
Am I the only one who makes a random decision at 9:47 one night and then insists that everybody fall in line? This is probably the thing that drives Josh the craziest in our relationship -- the phrase she has a bee in her bonnet is thrown around on a regular basis around here.I've been camping my entire life. Maybe you would call it something else because we summer in a travel trailer, but we always slept in tents when I was a little girl, so camping is what we call it. Josh and I are on our second travel trailer -- we had a tiny one before the girls were born and after renting one for several summers in between, we bought our current trailer. She's a 2007, but we like that she isn't a super new model. The floor plan is more open and there aren't as many cumbersome modern amenities (think ...
Valentine’s Day Cards + Ideas
Psssst. There are affiliate links in this post. Shopping the items linked will give me approximately 0.0006 cents per click. You’ve been warned! I'm usually way ahead of the game when it comes to Valentine's Day crafts. I start shopping the dollar spot and clearance holiday sections at all of my favorite stores right after Christmas and the girls and I spend plenty of time brainstorming catchy slogans for their classroom cards. I know what you're thinking-- I should just buy the cards already -- but I really do enjoy making them from scratch! In years past, we've run the gamut from easy peasy to crazy complicated. I thought it might be fun to do a little recap in case you're looking for inspiration already. Ballerina Themed Lollipop Tutu Tutorial (heart shaped lollipops via ...
Christmas Wrapping Ideas
I seriously considered sharing this post as a DIY, but we're only a week away from Christmas and I'm guessing you already have your wrapping supplies in hand, right? Instead, I snapped a few photos of some of my favorite packages and thought I would share how we're decorating our Christmas gifts this year! I saw a comment on another blog earlier in the week that asked if holiday decorations in every room and over the top wrapping was a blogger thing. I guess it's possible that some bloggers spend all of that time and money just for content, but that isn't how things go down at my house. The January before I was married (in August), some of my mom's girlfriends threw me a holiday themed wedding shower. They each bought me ornaments, holiday dishes and plenty of decor during the after ...
Thanksgiving Craft Time | Recipe Cards
Would it surprise you at all if I told you I found these photographs from last November that never made it onto the blog. No? Well, me either. The girls and I spent a wonderful fall afternoon baking cookies for our Thanksgiving guests and they were delicious! Baked goodies are always a big hit and we love adding sweet packaging and personal details to make them the perfect gift. Try sending these home with your holiday guests, having your kids take them as teacher treats, or handing them out to your mailman and garbage delivery guy. Everybody loves cookies, especially during the holiday season! You can grab the free printable recipe cards here. Just print them on white cardstock and trim along the edges for cards that will fit perfectly in your recipe box. Still looking for ...
