For what seems like the millionth month in a row, I'm late joining Anne for this month's link up (by a month!), but I would still encourage you to visit her blog and see the others who participated. I'm not doing so great when it comes to keeping up with blogs, but hers is one of my favorite, and I'm trying to keep up with a few while I'm at home these many weeks. We're kind of in survival mode over here and I haven't talked much about what is going on with us, beyond our Coronivirus Diary entries. This Currently series is one of my favorites and always such a fun way to catch you up on very specific areas in our lives. sharing | One of the only reasons I'm surviving this bizarre season of life is that I'm still sharing so many stories with my closest friends. Jennifer and I have ...

I thought that February would surely be kinder to us than January, but boy was I wrong. I've taken more sick days in 2020 than I did in 2019 (!!!) and my budget for copays and prescriptions was grossly undersized. We are finally all on the mend, but we accomplished almost nothing on our list from February. Can we get a do-over? fixing | We've been fixing a few minor roof problems over the last few weeks and I think we are finally in the clear. We noticed a small leak upstairs (after painting the girls' ceilings, of course) and it seems our attic vents needed a new round of caulk and tar. Progress upstairs has been slow going (working around naps and bedtimes isn't easy!), but we're almost ready to put the girls' rooms back together. hearing | Polly is very into sounds right now, ...

A week later is better than never, right? I realized yesterday that I never took or shared a photo of our living room on the first of the month. There have been times when I was a day or two late (since I don't post on Instagram every day), but never eleven! We've been spending all of our free time working in the girls' rooms and I just haven't had much else to share -- or the time to share it. I would like to note that despite the horrible photo quality, it's a huge achievement that my Christmas tree is not in this photo. It was definitely still hanging around on January 1 and it was questionable whether or not I would get it down before February rolled around. It's too late to link up with Anne (whomp, whomp), but I haven't missed a Currently post in quite a long time, so I decided ...

It's January. I'm sure that everyone is making a big deal about how they can't believe it's a new month, year, decade -- so I'll try not to focus too much on that, but how in the world did that happen so quickly? We have been soaking up every single second of our holiday vacation and it was the first time in months where we were all five at home together with nothing to do. We've worked puzzles, played outside, stuffed our faces, and binge watched all sorts of fun, family television. Maybe we could have been more productive, but it was nice to just be in the room with each other. I haven't settled on a theme for my monthly photos just yet, so the snapshot in this post could very well change before the end of the day. Any brilliant ideas for 2020? Well, I woke up this morning and looked ...

December is already kicking my butt. Anybody else? Our calendars are full of sports and celebrations and deadlines and we are furiously trying to squeeze it all in, while still enjoying the heck out of the holiday. Polly is determined to tear our tree down and I'm determined to have a beautiful Christmas with a fifteen month old -- are these two things mutually exclusive?! I might not have blogged much this year, but I did manage to take a photo of our living room every single month. November's was from a slightly different perspective, but I still loved capturing life in the center of our home. I can't decide if I should do something different this year or pick another room of our house -- any suggestions or things you'd love to see? wrapping | Gifts are just starting to arrive ...

I've done so well with taking first day of the month (sometimes second) this year, but here we are -- with two months to spare -- and I completely obscured our normal view with a pair of wing back chairs in my living room. I can't say that I'm sorry, though, since the chairs make our living room so much more livable. Maybe for next year I'll continue taking first day photos in the heart of our home, but vary the perspective a bit. picking | Did I mention that we picked out carpet last week? It's a beautiful, dark grey with a diamond pattern and everyone in our house actually agreed on what to get (although the girls favored a slightly lighter color.). We've spent the last week cleaning and organizing and packing boxes, so that we can empty the upstairs for carpet installation, ...

arranging | I have been so overwhelmed by my closet lately. I'm content with my current size, but it isn't the same size as either of the previous two falls. I emptied the whole thing into my bedroom floor last week and I'm already feeling better about myself. I'd like to whittle it down a little more, but I'm going to see which items I reach for over the next several weeks. loving | This age with Polly is such fun. I swear every age is my favorite, but I love her being more vocal and independent and hilarious. She is very into climbing stairs and spitting right now (neither of which are cool with mom), so she makes sure to get my attention before she does either. It is pretty much impossible not to laugh. embracing | Can you admit to embracing fall when it's still 97* in your ...

It's birthday week and I'll admit to being a little emotional about the whole thing. I've never been super sentimental or weepy about my girls growing up -- watching them embrace new stages of life has always been so much fun to do -- but it's hard with the littlest one. I'm not sure if it's my age, or knowing (thinking?) she's my last one, or what, but I definitely feel different about how fast it's all moving. making | I'm making all of the last minute preparations for Polly's sunshine party this weekend. My list is long, but I'm hoping to tackle all of my errands this afternoon and then it's just a matter of blowing up one million balloons. taking | We're still taking way too many photos of Polly Pocket -- I want to capture every single nuance of this age. She is so funny and ...
