Because Starbucks is finally handing out our beloved red cups filled full to the brim with holiday flavor, grab your favorite drink and join me for coffee. Amber is still on hiatus, but Erin has our coffee dates going strong. If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that I am thrilled for that holiday menu. I need to admit that I have never, ever tasted the highly touted Pumpkin Spiced Latte, but on Friday morning I ordered my first Peppermint Mocha of the season with the biggest smile on my face. No, it's not paleo and yes, I could have made it at home. Do I regret drinking it, in all of it's venti glory? No, I do not. It was delicious and full of unnecessary calories and approximately six dollars. I did see that you can buy the refrigerated version at the grocery store, but I ...

Grab your latte (or tea or hot chocolate) and press on in, it's time for our monthly coffee date! If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that Jesus is really kicking my butt. No matter where I encounter him -- in worship on Sunday morning, in my new small group over coffee, or at an amazing women's conference --He is telling me the same thing. Slow down. Unload. Remove some chairs. I had a bit of a breakdown a few weeks ago and I'm convinced that Josh thought I was crazy. I had reached my tipping point and everything was overflowing. My calendar was too full, my to-do list was to long, my mind was full of worries, and I was feeling overwhelmed. He helped me see some areas where I needed margin and helped me identify a few others I could eliminate altogether. I'm working to say no ...

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I'm loving Blogtember so much. I had already gotten myself back in the habit of a very regular posting schedule last month, but the challenge of sharing for thirty consecutive days has helped me make it an even greater priority. It has sparked a few posts that I might not have thought to share otherwise, has introduced me to several new favorite blogs, and helped to solidify my love for post scheduling. My editorial calendar is quite rounded out through mid-October and I've kept to my commitment of no midnight posting for the following day. Thank goodness for new habits. If we were on a coffee date, I'd be gushing about Downton Abbey. In full disclosure, I've just managed to watch 52 episodes in just under three weeks (I'll let you do the ...

It's weird that I would be excited about a Monday, but I am. I feel like this is the real first Monday in August and I'm giving it plenty of love. If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that... School starts tomorrow and I'm so glad. I'm not usually that mom shoving her kids out the front door with a grin on my face, but this year it's different. Summer was hard and the lack of a schedule has done a number on me. We're all over-tired and suffering from a summer hangover and I think school is exactly what we need to kick ourselves in gear. Sophie is in first grade this year and Ella is in the fourth (what in the actual heck?) and they are both so excited about their teachers and being back at school with their friends. We've dropped off school supplies, bought a completely new wardrobe ...

If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that... 001 | I'm new to coffee dates. Not the real and in person with friends you know kind of coffee dates, but the virtual ones where you share tiny tidbits of your life. So many blogging friends join up to share these posts at the beginning of the month and as much as I adore reading them, I rarely ever jump in. Since I am a huge fan of link parties and had exactly zero things on my blogging calendar for today, I decided to join. I don't have anything revolutionary to share, so it would be easy to let it pass by, but sharing where we are is kind of the point. Right? 002 | I'm drinking boring coffee these days. For the near future, my coffee is boring and black (and not so delicious). We started a second round of Whole30 for the year and ...
Coffee Date?
I thought I'd invite you on a coffee date today, but then I remembered that I'm on a coffee strike. Because, creamer. Apparently that's a no-go on Whole30, even though I only have coffee once a week or so. Instead, I thought I'd share this fun list of things I'm doing (inspired yesterday by Meg at Whatever). READING: Books have been a little slow going for me this month and I'll blame that on my love/hate relationship with digital devices. I love paper books, although I rarely ever read them, but the convenience of having your book with you always is pretty much amazing. I started reading the Maze Runner trilogy/prequel after watching the movie during the holidays, but I'm having to get used to holding a book again. The book is so good and Josh keeps chastising me about how long ...
