I pinky promise, I have no intentions of offering a gift guide for every day of the week, but much like yesterday's Advent Calendar Roundup, this post was born out of necessity. Sophie got a new pair of holiday pajamas at a Hanna Andersson event over the summer, but Ella desperately needs some and I really like it when they have a matching pair. I may or may not be able to get away with the long john style for Ella this year, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Here are fifteen of my favorites from another late night shopping adventure. 01 | Mini Boden Nutcracker Nightgown ($42) 02 | Mini Boden ...

A recent addition to our list of annual holiday traditions is using an advent calendar throughout the month of December. While we do have a faith based one that we read through as a family, I also like having something with small gifts for the girls to enjoy every morning before school. A few years ago, our elf delivered advent calendars on the last day of November and it was a huge hit. I've already started shopping for our calendars this year, but I've had a hard time finding exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, most of the really pretty (and well priced ones) are made in the UK and they are either ...

Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. I had such a great time putting together gift guides for last year's holiday season, but this year, I wanted to focus on a few areas that I've noticed are missing in the gift guide blogosphere. When looking for faith based gifts for your friends, small group leaders, or other women in your life, it can often be really challenging to find something that is both beautiful and meaningful. That's why I've done some internet sleuthing on your behalf. Here are fifteen great ideas -- plus a few bonus finds! -- and ...
Holiday Recap | Christmas Day
Also known as the Christmas where I took terrible photos. Bear with me, because we had a great time despite the blur and grain. This was an interesting Christmas. I felt equal parts at home and unmoored. We are loving the new house and the space to stretch out and living with my parents, but it's weird not having your own things around. My mom told me a hundred times in November that I should get all of our decorations out and do whatever I wanted inside, but without our own furniture, art and accessories -- it still felt foreign. We pooled a few of our decorations that worked well together and made it work, but I can't wait to decorate next year. Even though it will be our second holiday in the log house, it will feel like doing it all for the first time. I wouldn't change a ...
Holiday Recap | Christmas Eve 2016
Also known as the Christmas where I took terrible photos. Bear with me, because we had a great time despite the blur and grain. I had grand plans to blog yesterday, but I seriously never moved from one spot. It was the best day ever, but starting today I have to be a little more productive. Notice I said little. On Christmas Eve, we celebrate with Josh's parents and his brother's family. It is very laid back, so we wore pajamas and brought all of our favorite breakfast foods. The kids were ready to open gifts from the moment we arrived, so as soon as we could scarf down breakfast, it was time to rip into gifts! They are completely and totally spoiled and got all of the fun interactive gifts that we refuse to buy. Isn't that what grandparents are for?! Ella's big gifts were ...
Finding Our Christmas Tree | Vlog
Two days of video in a row?! Who am I even? I know everyone has their own holiday traditions and, whether they are super simple or over-the-top extravagant, they are each so special. One of things I look forward to the most is Black Friday -- and let me assure you it has exactly zero to do with shopping. Unless, of course, you count the tree! We all slept in on Friday morning. Thanksgiving was exhausting and we all stayed up a little late. I was the first to get up and then both girls trailed down the stairs about thirty minutes apart. Finally, Josh was up around 8:30 and declared that we should be dressed and ready for breakfast by 9 o'clock. Nothing like good food to get the girls ready in a hurry. Of course, Sophie cried because she didn't have any Christmas pajamas, Ella was ...
Christmas Wrapping Ideas
I seriously considered sharing this post as a DIY, but we're only a week away from Christmas and I'm guessing you already have your wrapping supplies in hand, right? Instead, I snapped a few photos of some of my favorite packages and thought I would share how we're decorating our Christmas gifts this year! I saw a comment on another blog earlier in the week that asked if holiday decorations in every room and over the top wrapping was a blogger thing. I guess it's possible that some bloggers spend all of that time and money just for content, but that isn't how things go down at my house. The January before I was married (in August), some of my mom's girlfriends threw me a holiday themed wedding shower. They each bought me ornaments, holiday dishes and plenty of decor during the after ...
Ruby’s Famous Cornbread Dressing
In hindsight, I should have shared this recipe with you a month ago. The real story, though, is that I've been perfecting my recipe skills and I only just got this right on the morning of Thanksgiving. The good news is, you can cook this for Christmas and Easter and any other Tuesday you've got a craving! I've been enjoying this particular cornbread dressing for the last nineteen years. First, Josh's grandmother Ruby made it for us and, later, his mom took over the responsibility. I borrowed the recipe pretty early in our marriage, but Josh is quick to point out when his mom has me beat in the kitchen. This is one that I could always get close, but never quite right. It turns out, I made a few critical errors when transcribing the recipe. Since my recipe box is still in storage, I asked ...
