For the first time in Collaboreads history, I didn't finish my book. Actually... I haven't finished a single book this month. I tried to remember the last time that happened, but it's been years since I went an entire month without reading a single title. There are still 72 hours left and it's altogether possible that I'll finish at least one, but I have my doubts. I'm actually right in the middle of several, really good, books -- I just haven't found the time to read as much in November as I have in previous months. That should change in December, so I'm giving myself some grace. Just in case you’ve ...

Kid Lit | Volume 1
Disclosure: Thank you to Tyndale House and Nav Press for sending the girls these books in exchange for our review. Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. Remember last summer when I shared a few posts (here and here) about what Ella was reading? I really want to be better about sharing books the girls are loving, because I get questions all the time about how we encourage the girls to read and what books we recommend. As a part of Tyndale's Book Blogger program, we'll have an opportunity to read and review some of their children's titles over the next several months and I'm thrilled to share the first round with you today. Yes, we received these for free ...
Readathon Recap
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. I was hoping to have a Readathon Recap for you on Monday, but it was... well, it was a Monday. Instead you get two book posts in one day. I'm mostly sharing details of the day, so check back early next month for a review of everything I read in October. I really had no expectations for Saturday. We didn't have plans for the weekend, so I knew it was a great day to plan to read, but how in the world could I pull off a 24 hour stretch?! I made a few plans to keep things on track, but I also made a few changes along the way. It was much darker (and colder) than I expected at 7 am, so I scrapped my early ...
How Many Books Could You Read in 24 Hours?!
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. How many books could you read if you had an entire day to devote to nothing but reading? I'm not sure what my number is, but we're about to find out. I'm sure I could find something else to do with my time. There are a whole list of projects that need tackling and I'm always behind in some area of housekeeping, but since the Dewey's Readathon only happens twice a year and I've never been able to participate before (because: children), I'm taking it as a sign that I had nothing much on my agenda for Saturday. I'm under no illusions that I'll be able to read for the full 24 hours, but I'm setting a ...
What I Read in September
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. When I look back at September it was a hard month. We had a lot going on in our family and I just felt out of sorts for most of the month. My mom and I have talked about that a lot in the last few days and while I'm still not feeling back to myself exactly, I'm vowing to get myself together and to enjoy October. The upside to down days in September, is that I got a lot more reading done that I usually do. On top of the seven books I'm sharing today, I ended the month about halfway through both an audio selection and a paperback. I have some great things in my to be read pile and I'm looking forward ...
What I Read in August

It's that time again -- the day where we recap all the books I've read in a single month. This is one of those times where it feels like I read all the pages, but since one book topped out over one thousand pages, the number of books I read was smaller than it felt. I finally finished up my most recent epic novel (only to dive into another one and at the same time be anxiously awaiting a new release later this month) and it feels good. It's been so fun to expand on the genres I'm reading this year and I hope to continue that theme moving forward. Let's get to it, shall we? 40. THE COUPLE ...
Collaboreads | A Book in a Series

You know what happens when the first of the month is on a Tuesday? The Collaboreads link up sneaks up on you! With a week of travel, a new work schedule, and the girls getting back into the swing of school -- August has been full. I had high hopes for the blog and social media over the last few weeks, but I've barely been able to keep up. I'm sure we'll settle into our new normal and I'll find a rhythm again, but until then I'll just be over here doing the best that I can! One thing I did do this month, was make it easier for you to follow along with what I'm reading. I started a companion ...
What I Read in July
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. July was crazy busy -- I'm honestly not sure how I managed to squeeze in six books before it ended. Add to those a more than half finished epic novel and a good start on my next audiobook? I'm on quite a roll this summer! 34. THE HATE U GIVE BY ANGIE THOMAS ★★★★☆ | Contemporary Fiction (audiobook) From Amazon: Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the ...
