If it weren't for our 24 hour readathon, October would have been a complete bust when it comes to reading. It didn't feel super busy, but I couldn't find the extra minutes in every day to read like I normally would. Maybe it's because we've been binging The Office or because I've been swamped at work, but I'm hoping to redeem myself a little in November. 52. THE DRY by Jane Harper ★★★☆☆ | Serial Mystery (audiobook) After getting a note demanding his presence, Federal Agent Aaron Falk arrives in his hometown for the first time in decades to attend the funeral of his best friend, Luke. What I Read in August

It's that time again -- the day where we recap all the books I've read in a single month. This is one of those times where it feels like I read all the pages, but since one book topped out over one thousand pages, the number of books I read was smaller than it felt. I finally finished up my most recent epic novel (only to dive into another one and at the same time be anxiously awaiting a new release later this month) and it feels good. It's been so fun to expand on the genres I'm reading this year and I hope to continue that theme moving forward. Let's get to it, shall we? 40. THE COUPLE ...

You know what happens when the first of the month is on a Tuesday? The Collaboreads link up sneaks up on you! With a week of travel, a new work schedule, and the girls getting back into the swing of school -- August has been full. I had high hopes for the blog and social media over the last few weeks, but I've barely been able to keep up. I'm sure we'll settle into our new normal and I'll find a rhythm again, but until then I'll just be over here doing the best that I can! One thing I did do this month, was make it easier for you to follow along with what I'm reading. I started a companion ...
What I Read in July
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. July was crazy busy -- I'm honestly not sure how I managed to squeeze in six books before it ended. Add to those a more than half finished epic novel and a good start on my next audiobook? I'm on quite a roll this summer! 34. THE HATE U GIVE BY ANGIE THOMAS ★★★★☆ | Contemporary Fiction (audiobook) From Amazon: Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the ...
Collaboreads | Final Girls

I was a bit of a procrastinator this month and relied on the "I can read a book in a day" mantra to get something read before our post went life. This month's prompt was to tackle a summer read and to me, that means a fast-paced page turner, preferably in the suspense or thriller category. I've read plenty of those this summer and they almost never disappoint. I had one more reserved for our trip next week, but I decided to pull it off the shelf early and dive in for our link up today. That means I'll be hitting up the bookstore later this week for the perfect airport read. Any ...
What I Read in June

June is always a stellar reading month for me and this one was no exception. A few day at home alone followed by a ten day vacation means I can usually get to double-digits! I didn't read as many books this month as in June's past, but considering that my first read of the month topped 900 pages and I usually stay well under 400, I feel like I accomplished a ton. This appears to be the month of four star reads -- I didn't meet a book I didn't fall in love with. I saved all of my creepy thrillers for the beach and they made for perfect one day reads. Josh finished the sequel to Pillars of the Earth ...
On Books + Reading
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. If you've been reading here for any amount of time, then you'll know that reading is one of my favorite things to do in the world. I remember my mom carrying me to the library as a little girl for the summer reading program. You know, the one with the ice cream cone chart? I'm pretty sure I still have that chart in my memory box somewhere. I'm a life long reader, but I have been through seasons where I didn't read as much, or I was only reading for school, or I was only reading terrible (young adult steamy romance) novels. My reading life has certainly evolved and the past year and half has probably ...
What I Read in May
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. I really didn't mean to take off an entire week from blogging, but May has been positively insane. With end of the school year shenanigans, dance wrapping up for a few months, and our camper renovation in full swing -- we have been completely overwhelmed. I do have posts planned for tomorrow and Friday, so hopefully we're getting back in the swing of things. I missed you guys! Wait, is June really tomorrow? I know we say it almost every month, but this year is flying by and I can't believe we're within a few weeks of our summer vacation! The girls have been out of school for a week and we're ...
