Hand Lettering
I have gotten quite a few requests via email and Instagram to share a hand-lettering tutorial. I'm not sure that "tutorial" is really the right word since I'm showing you how *I* do things, not necessarily how *you* should do them. Either way, I sat down armed with my camera and a few of my favorite supplies to show you a few easy things you can do to help make your letters look adorable. I am still trying to figure out the best way to shoot these videos. I have a great camera, but it wasn't being cooperative so I ended up shooting this with my phone. Hence the crazy angle and the fact that you can see my nose almost the entire time. Also, I say something about "making the letters more interesting" approximately 764 times, so there's that. What started out as a short video, quickly ...

Your support of my journaling habit is always appreciated! It's been several weeks since I posted anything Bible Journaling related and I thought you were due for an update. I get lots of questions on my Instagram posts and they are all things I wanted to ask in the beginning myself. Now that I have several months of faith journaling experience, I thought I'd share more details about my process, my supplies and my favorite ways to connect my faith with my talents. The most frequently asked question I get is "Where did you get that amazing Bible cover?!" I was fortunate enough to jump on The ...
My FAVORITE Bible Journaling Supplies
This post was updated in October of 2016. Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I can purchase a few extra art supplies this month. Your support of my journaling habit is always appreciated! Some of the most asked questions on my Bible Journaling posts are "Where did you get your Bible?", "What supplies are you using?" and "How did you make it look like that!?" I've been working on a supply list for some time, but I decided the best possible way to share these things with you was with yet ANOTHER vlog. Aren't you excited? I'm sharing my favorite pens, pencils, markers and other supplies in the video, along with how I use them most. If you aren't into torturing yourself (for SEVENTEEN ...
Bible Journaling | My Workspace
It's been almost two weeks since I vlogged about Bible Journaling and how it revolutionized my daily devotion time. In that time, I've made so many new virtual friends and found even more favorites to follow. I have been so inspired by the daily artwork shared and I've learned so much about how other artists spend their quiet time with God. I'm learning that something I used to find fault with is a shared problem among creatives and that I'm not the only one to struggle with being still and quiet. I'm relatively new to Bible Journaling, but I've jumped right in with two feet. I saw a friend post a photo of her journaling Bible back in the fall and since I knew I wanted a new Bible for this year, I ordered one. In the beginning I was just journaling in the margins, but it didn't take ...
Speak Up: February
It's a weird thing, blogging. I find myself squished between the "writers" and the "reviewers". I'll never be that girl that writes poetic words or harbors dreams of a book someday, but I hope that I'm not simply giving you a list of things we did and calling it writing. This is a space where I accumulate words -- for myself sometimes, but mostly so that my children will be able to read the story of their youth -- so they will know who their parents were outside of discipline and daily chores -- and to preserve the memories and moments that might otherwise slip through the cracks. For those of you who are visiting because of the vlog link-up, thanks so much for coming by. I hope you aren't turned off by the definite "mommy blog" vibe going on over here and I want to say thank you for ...
