I know you guys are anxiously waiting for a birth story and lots of photos (right?!), but we're still in recovery mode and soaking up all the newborn snuggles. Join me on Instagram for daily baby updates and I promise to have you all the details on the blog next week! In the meantime, let's take one last look at the baby bump, shall we? One of the things on my to-do list before baby's arrival was to finish up some organizational projects. When we were cleaning and organizing our first floor last month, I moved many plastic tubs filled with photographs and mementos from the last twenty-ish years. Josh & I took a hard look at everything and tried to let as much go as possible, while still maintaining a healthy collection of our favorite things. There was one tub that still gives ...

Each week, I share a series of baby bump photos on Instagram + Instagram Stories, and then later post them here as a part of my monthly bumpdate series. I've had a few questions here, but so many people have asked on Instagram, how I'm managing to take them myself, make them look like I have a massive white wall, and keep them all so consistent. I hesitate to share a true tutorial, because everyone's homes are different, we don't all have the same photography equipment or skills, and the majority of us don't have a white wall with perfect lighting. Instead, I thought I'd show you how I pull off this weekly ...
Bumpdate | 36 Weeks
I might only be sharing a monthly bumpdate, but I’m still taking weekly photos to share on Instagram — and to preserve for the baby book — so I figured I would catch up at the beginning of each update post. Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. I am honestly amazed at how quickly this year has flown by - for anyone not paying attention: I have been pregnant THIS ENTIRE YEAR?! I'm getting lots of comments on my body / the belly these days, especially from perfect strangers, and it's always so weird and catches me completely off guard. Everyone has an opinion about how I'm carrying or what we're having or if we planned for this baby (when they see the girls, but WHAT THE HECK?!). Mostly, I just want to not discuss the state of my cervix while checking out at the ...
Bumpdate | 34 Weeks
This isn't going to be a full bumpdate -- because I usually do those every four weeks -- but since we're running out of time and so many things change on a daily basis, I thought I'd share a few basic stats in between. How Far Along Are You? 34 Weeks (last Wednesday) Total Weight Gain: I'm actually not sure about the exact number this week. My last doctor's appointment was kind of weird -- I'm rotating between doctors in my practice and the appointment was so short that I completely forgot to ask. I do remember looking at the scale and thinking it hadn't moved much, so I'm going to guess between 13-14 pounds total. Maternity Clothes? I've been wearing maternity clothes -- almost exclusively -- since around 14 weeks. My jeans are starting to be uncomfortable and I hate anything ...
Bumpdate | 32 Weeks
I might only be sharing a monthly bumpdate, but I’m still taking weekly photos to share on Instagram — and to preserve for the baby book — so I figured I would catch up at the beginning of each update post. Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. I knew this pregnancy would fly by -- that's what always happens when you swear you're going to enjoy every minutes of something. Since we got back from the beach, I feel like life has been at breakneck speed. Our schedule and to-do list has been so full and even though it's all been good stuff, it's a little overwhelming. I'm going to take a slightly different approach to the remaining pregnancy updates (THERE ARE ONLY TWO LEFT?!) and I'll be back in a few days to share a little more about my current state of ...
Bumpdate | 28 Weeks
I might only be sharing a monthly bumpdate, but I’m still taking weekly photos to share on Instagram — and to preserve for the baby book — so I figured I would catch up at the beginning of each update post. Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. It is honestly so hard to believe we are in the third trimester. I feel like this pregnancy has been the quickest of them all and, knowing it's definitely my last, I want to cherish every moment. There have been plenty of hard days, but mostly I'm just so grateful for this unexpected surprise and we are embracing parenting at an older age, with bigger kids, and a completely different outlook on life. I'm way behind on all of the things I should be doing -- we have no nursery, we're still living out of boxes, I haven't ...

Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. Can I tell you what a relief it is to reach the age of viability?! I never worried much during my pregnancy with Ella -- and, honestly, I haven't been too anxious this time around either -- but with Sophie, I was a nervous wreck! I know that it was all related to our two losses between the girls, but I lived that pregnancy with a sort of caution I ...

Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. It is so crazy to realize that I'm already at the half-way point of this pregnancy. Knowing that this is my last pregnancy ever, I've been doing my best to enjoy every tear stained, nauseated minute. I remember when we decided not to try again, how heartbroken I was over not knowing that Sophie was my last. I feel like I'm paying attention to ...
