In case you missed it, I shared part one and part two of our summer vacation recap, earlier this week! Towards the end of our trip, I realized I didn't have any pictures of the girls inside our camper. I know that seems like such a small and silly thing, but I know we won't have this same one forever and we all love it so much, so I want to be sure we capture our time in it accurately. The kids spent so many afternoons playing cards around our table and I can't count the number of times we watched Aquamarine on DVD -- ha! This girl was so much fun to capture. She spent a fair amount of time playing and crawling around the floor, which is why we finally agreed that the carpet has to come out before next summer. Carpet and sand are not a fun combination! These are some ...

2019 Summer Vacation | Part Two
In case you missed it, I shared part one of our summer vacation recap, on the blog yesterday! Polly started getting really good at self-feeding, right about the time we left for vacation. I remembered thinking that she might never actually swallow the food we were offering, when all of a sudden, she became a voracious eater. That made our trip infinitely easier and I was able to pack all sorts of healthy snacks and meals for days on the go. Her little clip on chair was perfect for our picnic table, but I also carried to most of the restaurants we visited, and I can't tell you how many questions and compliments we got. The more days we spent on the beach, the braver our little sister got. She spent a morning playing in the sand with Sophie and they were the cutest things to ...
2019 Summer Vacation | Part One
After an accidental hiatus, I'm finally catching you up with all of our summer fun. It's hard to believe it's been two whole months since our family vacation. We joke that we spend fifty weeks a year looking forward to this trip, but it's more true than you know. This summer was especially fun, because we were introducing Polly to all of our favorite places and teaching her how to be the best beach bum she could be. I'm not even going to try and recap all of the things we did each day. Instead, I'm going to share all of my favorite photographs -- way too many -- and share a few of my favorite moments from our trip. Polly still wasn't sleeping great when we visited Gulf Shores in June. We were closing in on sleeping through the night, but she was still nursing several times on her ...
The Daily Dime | July 2018
When I was thinking about what day to share for my monthly Day in the Life post, I figured I would snap a few photos one of the days we were in Pensacola and it would do double duty -- day in the life and vacation recap. Since we had already been to the beach once this summer and I had taken a multitude of photos, I planned to rest and read a lot, leaving my camera alone for most of our trip. On Friday, I took zero photos, but I more than made up for it on Saturday and Sunday (accidentally). When I edited these earlier in the week there were 77?! I got it down to 45 before uploading them to WordPress, but I have no idea how many will wind up staying in the post, all said and done. Instead of getting a Daily Dime this month, you are getting a Daily Dose of Insanity. Forgive the ...
2018 Summer Vacation | Part Two
In case you missed it yesterday, check out the first part of recap here. Confession: I've never actually been crab hunting. I usually bail out of this activity, leaving my husband to torture the kids, while I read in bed. There is something about being pregnant again that has made me so much more maternal than usual. A huge part of me thinks it's completely weird, but the rest of me hopes it will stick around. I opted to tag along and we met my sister and Jennifer at the pier and the let the kids all hunt together. I have so much video footage from this excursion, that I'll need to share at some point. The kids were squealing and the daddies were running around trapping crabs with their bare hands. Jennifer and I walked very slow and Kamin kept us company. At the end ...
2018 Summer Vacation | Part One
I was looking back through some of our vacation posts from previous years and noticed a few things. The posts I loved most were those filled with random snapshots of camp life and beach days, but also those where I let the photos do most of the talking. I'm still figuring out my new camera, so these aren't the best vacation photos I've ever captured, but I got a little emotional looking back through them this morning. We had the most wonderful two weeks together and I wouldn't trade that time for anything. I had somebody ask if our extended family really liked each other that much and the truth is -- YES, we really do. I can't imagine spending fourteen days together on vacation if we weren't having the time of our lives and I can genuinely say that we really enjoy one another's company. ...
Maternity Photos at Our Favorite Place
I have been the absolute worst at sharing in this space since we found out we were expecting. I go through phases where I'm completely on top of things and can churn out four or five posts a week, but other weeks I'm struggling just to put my shoes on in the morning. Maybe it's the heat of summer or maybe it's that all of those first trimester symptoms return at this point in pregnancy, but I am sloooow and hot and tired and swollen and all I can think about is food and clean sheets. We haven't started the nursery yet, I'm in the middle of moving offices at work, and we're getting ready to head out of town for a few days this weekend. I do have lots of fun baby and family content to share, so hopefully I'll have time to edit and upload photos while we're on the road this weekend. Everybody ...
Our Annual Beach Trip | Part Two
As predicted, the tropical storm rolled right on in the very next day. While the storm raged outside, and the camper did a bit of rocking, we debated whether we should wait it out or head home. The forecast was unpredictable, but things looked promising towards the end of the week and I'm a firm believer that rain at the beach is way better than rain at home. We ultimately decided to enjoy a few lazy days around camp and pray that the sunshine would reappear later in the week. On that first rainy morning, I decided to take advantage of our lack of plans and get all of the laundry done. This was my second trip to the laundromat -- why do we create so much dirty laundry during vacation?! I loaded up six loads (I know, I'm shaking my head, too) of clothes and towels, two crabby girls and ...
