Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! Who's ready for February's Books?! When I first started drafting this post (I usually try to write the reviews immediately after I finish each book so that I don't forget anything!), I thought this might be a slow month of reading. My goal for the year is 52 books, so I'm trying to average one book per week. I know I will read far more than that over the summer, but I still hate to get behind this early! Most of the time, I'm "reading" two books at once -- I listen to an audio book during my daily commute and then read another book at ...

Currently in February
So, were over half-way through February. What in the fresh heck? I am not ready for this year to just blow right by me... I have so many things I want to do and see! I thought I'd check in with a list of all the things we're currently enjoying this month. READING: I've already logged a few books for February and they'll be on the blog early next month. I did start attending another Bible study with some girls in my community and we are reading through Seamless by Angie Smith. The premise is that it teaches the Bible as a single story pointing to Christ from Genesis to Revelation, in a very simple and easy-to-understand way. So far, I'm really enjoying it and learning a lot! LISTENING: I haven't really added any new music to my playlists this month, but that doesn't mean we aren't jamming ...
DIY Coloring Page Valentines
Who's ready for DIY Coloring Page Valentines?! Printables and parties are my love language. I could sit and dream up fun little classroom treats all day long, so I love these first few weeks of February when I can share them to my heart's content. This is the second of this year's Valentine's Day posts (you can catch the first one here) and I hope you love these cute little coloring pages as much as we do! Since Sophie is obsessed with crayons and crafts, I knew I wanted to create some sort of coloring page for her to share with her friends. I say this every year, but I am a huge fan of non-candy treats and I'm sure kids with allergies or other food restrictions are super happy to get something they won't have to give away! I designed a super simple set (say that three times fast!) of ...

Since Valentines Day is closing in on us quick, I thought I would share a few more quick DIYs this week for my fellow procrastinators out there! How adorable are these DIY Diamond Ring Valentines? I mean, diamonds ARE a girl's best friend. DIY Diamond Ring Valentines Instructions Every year, I struggle to come up with several different ideas for the girls' cards. We have dance friends and school friends and church friends and cousins galore! Sure, I ...
What I Read in January
Warning: Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I download a few extra audio books this month. Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! It is no secret that I love to read, but I've been terrible about logging my books into Goodreads or keeping track of how many or which books I've been reading. It also doesn't help that I've read a few sketchy freebies that I'm not sure I would even disclose. I've decided to take a more deliberate approach this year, both to reading and to sharing, so I'll be writing a monthly post categorizing everything single thing I read this year. I love that I'll be able to keep up with exactly how many books I log, I'll be sharing my thoughts on ...
Currently in January
It's mid January and that means there isn't much going on around here. After a photo heavy few months, we're just resting and recharging our batteries over Netflix and soup. I though since I don't have some big event to share with you each day, that I'd update you on what we're doing currently. READING: I have bought stacks of books this month and I'm making it a goal for 2016 to read every day. I'm planning to share a post at the end of each month with what I've read and what I thought. So far this month, I finished up What Alice Forgot and I'm currently listening to After You and getting ready to read It Starts With Food. LISTENING: You guys know I love music and we're always adding new things to our playlists. I watched a documentary about Kurt Cobain over the holidays, so I've been ...

Kids in the Word
Warning: Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might contribute to an afternoon Starbucks run for me. Your support of my caffeine habit is always appreciated. One of the things that I remember vividly from growing up was the amount of time my mom spent in the Word on a regular basis. I'm sure that at the time I didn't see it as a big deal, but any time I've been asked to think back on women in my life who made an impact or things my parents did to help facilitate a relationship with Christ, this is one of the biggest things that stands out in my mind. There was always a basket of some sort with her Bible and a notebook or devotional guide, religious fiction and index cards filled with Bible verses. ...
