I wish I could tell you that I read exactly 52 books in 52 weeks, but it didn't quite shake down like that. Does it count that I started 52 books this year? I might not have met my goal exactly, but I'm pretty happy with myself. I do wish that number could have been a little larger, but I know this was a pretty big accomplishment for a crazy busy working mom. I debated whether to increase that number for next year or whether to set a different kind of reading goal altogether. I'm planning to share a bit of a reading recap for 2016 on the blog next week, so I hope to have that goal hammered out before ...

2016 in Pictures
Dude. How is it time for another year in review post? Just as in years past, this is one of my favorite posts of the year and I had such a great time going back through all we've shared this year and finding the posts and photos that best represent this year for us. Enjoy! January always feels so good, right? We turn the final page on another year and have the opportunity to be and do whatever it is we want! Everything about 2016 was a new adventure for us and the blog felt no different. We shared a letter to our favorite holiday ever, talked a lot about creative inspiration, started receiving monthly fixes and finally unveiled the new blog design. In February, I finished a month of Whole30 and shared some reflections on how things were going, along with this new recipe and a ...
What I Read in November
Warning: Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping What I Read in November won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I download a few extra audio books this month. Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! After reading a ton of books back in October, I was hoping to have another book filled month. It turns out that moving is exhausting and I spent far more time napping and watching movies this month than I did reading. I have no regrets, given how many books I've completed this year, but I'm going to work extra hard in December to finish as many books as possible. I am looking forward to a book related year-in-review post and to finally decide what my favorite book of 2016 really was! I’m using the following scale, courtesy of ...
What I Read in October
Warning: Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping What I Read in October won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I download a few extra audio books this month. Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! October was the busiest month I can remember in recent history and, somehow, I managed to read more books than in any other month this year. I'm not sure how that happened, except I spent so much time packing and running errands alone, that I blazed through three audiobooks this month. I read two nonfiction, self-help-ish books -- one for Bible study and another because, Whole30 -- and both of those read really quickly. Add to that, many evenings piled in bed with my people, plowing through the first installment of Harry Potter and we ...
What I Read in September
Warning: Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I download a few extra audio books this month. Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! September was a month filled with audiobooks. I somehow managed to accrue quite the stash of Audible credits over the summer, so I've enjoyed redeeming those for new reads over the past several weeks. Of the four books I managed to finish, only one of them was a physical book! The other three, I devoured during morning commutes and afternoon jogs. I'm guessing that as the temperatures continue to fall over the next several months, I'll be checking more and more audiobooks off of my list. I used to run to music only, but listening to ...
What I Read in August
Warning: Affiliate and sponsored links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might mean that I download a few extra audio books this month. Your support of my reading habit is always appreciated! At the end of July, I was up to thirty books for the year. I'll admit to thinking I'd be way ahead at this point, but it's been slower going than I expected. Part of me thinks that having a goal has been more hindrance than help, but I'm determined to finish the year strong either way! After a pretty dismal July, I'm proud to say I have my reading mojo back. I might not have tackled ten books this month, but I'll consider these four a win. Josh worked so much this month and the kids have been exhausted from their return to ...
Coffee With Kristin 003
If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I'm loving Blogtember so much. I had already gotten myself back in the habit of a very regular posting schedule last month, but the challenge of sharing for thirty consecutive days has helped me make it an even greater priority. It has sparked a few posts that I might not have thought to share otherwise, has introduced me to several new favorite blogs, and helped to solidify my love for post scheduling. My editorial calendar is quite rounded out through mid-October and I've kept to my commitment of no midnight posting for the following day. Thank goodness for new habits. If we were on a coffee date, I'd be gushing about Downton Abbey. In full disclosure, I've just managed to watch 52 episodes in just under three weeks (I'll let you do the ...
2015 in Pictures
The year-in-review post is one of my favorite things of the entire year. I always love going back through all of our pictures and posts from the previous twelve months and seeing everything we were up to. Let's dive right in!January is always fun. It's the start to a brand year and everything is fresh and new. On the blog, we finally recapped Christmas, I had my wisdom teeth pulled and we enjoyed our annual trip to the circus courtesy of my in-laws. We had a head start on our Valentine's Day treats and I shared free printables and tutorials for these ring pop Valentines and some super cute ballet themed ones, too. In February, I finally got to share a super sweet project we worked on with Celebrate! Magazine. Sophie got to host a tea party in her bedroom several months before and the ...
