It's time again to link up with the always fabulous Amber and Rachel to share an book review. They introduced us to #collaboreads in May and today is the day we get to link up and share the books we read in July! The concept is simple - there are only five steps: Visit their blogs and see the prompt for each month's link up. Go choose a book. READ {you get 30 whole days}. Write a review to link up with Amber & Rachel. Do it all over again next month! The criteria for July was to read a book with the character's name in the title and just like last month's review, I chose a book that I purchased almost a year ago and never got around to reading. Since I read Landline by Rainbow Rowell earlier in the summer, I was hoping to find Eleanor & Park just as ...

What better way to kick off my return to the blog world {hello, unexpected two-week hiatus} than to link up with the always fabulous Amber and Rachel to share an "almost" book review. They introduced us to #collaboreads last month and today is the day we finally get to link up! The concept is simple - there are only five steps: Visit their blogs and see the criteria for each month's link up. Go choose a book. READ {you get 30 whole days}. Write a review to link up with Amber & Rachel. Do it all over again next month! The criteria for June was that the book had to be on the New York Times' Bestseller List at the time you began reading. Last spring, I was given a sizable Amazon gift card and decided to use to download all of the new and slightly more expensive ...

Being back at work this week means that I'm finally on some sort of regular schedule. I'm not claiming to be anywhere close to normal, but I'm trying to get up at the same time and go to bed at a reasonable hour and eat actual meals and read and blog and... you get the picture. Yesterday's return to work was surprisingly uneventful and I spent some much needed time snuggling Polly as soon as I walked in the door. Today's post isn't exactly on time, but it is published, so I'm going to call that a win. As always, head over to read Rachel's post today, because she reads more than two books a month and has ...

I'm pretty sure I've said this every month since January, but this has not been a good month year for reading. It's not for a lack of trying, but especially in August, I've been so tired and distracted and if I'm still long enough to read a few pages -- I fall asleep! I didn't work as many days in the office this month, so I only tackled one audiobook (spoiler alert: it was a great one!). I read Anne's book as a part of her launch team and I've already shared that with you once, and I also picked up a parenting book because I haven't read a single one this entire pregnancy. It was kind of a weird pairing this ...

I am so thrilled to have read so many books last month! I'm sure our weekend getaway helped -- I read two, cover to cover, that weekend -- but I just found more time to sneak reading in my daily life and it was so good to feel like my normal self again. We've been super busy this summer and I've hopefully wrapped up most of my bigger projects to accomplish before baby. In theory, that should give me more time to rest and read, but in reality it might just give me more time to nap. I've already wish-listed a few parenting / baby books that I want to read, but I have plenty of BOTM selections to catch up on, too. ...

Woohoo for EIGHT BOOKS read in June! I was averaging a book for every day of our vacation and if I hadn't been so busy the week before and so tired the week after, I probably could have a fit a few more titles into the month. I'm almost finished with another audiobook and just cracked open my first nonfiction read for July, so I'm hoping to have plenty of fun reviews to share with you again in August. I'm trying to be better about sharing my reads -- in real time -- over on my Bookstagram, so join me there if you are tired of waiting until the end of the month for recommendations! 21. THE GREAT ALONE by ...

I have no idea how I managed to devour six books last month, given how crazy the month of May always is, but Josh made sure I spent plenty of time resting and I had a huge stack of books at the ready. We're headed to the beach very soon and I'm hoping to read even more books in June than I did in May. My stack is a little atypical of my normal summer reading, but I have several that I'm really excited to tackle. I'm sure there will be at least one bookstore run during our two week stay, so if there is something amazing you've read in the last few weeks, please let me know in the comments! 15. EXPECTING ...

I'm not doing so hot with time management these days and this book review post totally snuck up on me. Whhhyyyy do I think I share these on Wednesdays and realize my error every single month? Thank goodness for Rachel, who totally keeps me on my toes! I was thrilled to have a little of my reading mojo back this month. My numbers still aren't what they were last year, but pregnancy is definitely interfering (in the best possible way) with all of my usual habits. I'm still knocking out plenty of audiobooks, but being still enough to read and not falling asleep is hard work. I'm already chipping away at two ...
