Ella has recently taken to calling herself a "fashion girl", which is absolutely hilarious. We aren't really sure where she picked up the term, but coming from her it definitely puts a smile on your face. She prances around with tons of accessories, checks herself out in the mirror at every chance and doesn't hesitate to remind us how fashionable, adorable or precious she really is. There have been lots of changes around here over the last few weeks and Ella is definitely feeling the brunt of things. She keeps reminding me how different everything is, despite my best efforts to keep her life as normal as possible. Despite her emotions, she is adapting very well and loving on her little sister as often as we'll let her. Since she hasn't been featured prominently on the blog in the ...

Yummy!
Before the snow changed our direction for Friday, Ella and her friends exchanged Valentine's goodies and ate yummy heart-shaped cookies at school. You saw the crafts we made for her friends last week, but here are a few pictures of the treats she picked up at school and dance class. Ella all ready to head out Friday morning. Enjoying sugar sprinkle cookies, courtesy of mom. Ella on the couch Friday afternoon, ready to dig in! Pretty princess rings from Madeline. Her first adventure with Fun Dip, from Grace. Fortunately for mommy she wasn't a fan and Sophie & I got to finish it off. The ring pop did not disappoint! Now we're all jacked up on sugar and enjoying a Valentine's Day nap. Have a happy heart day. ...
Week of Love: Craft Time!
As much as I wanted to, Ella & I just couldn't pull together a week's worth of red outfits, fun activities and silly posts for you guys this week! Instead, you'll have to look back at last February and enjoy the few posts we'll share this week leading up to the big day (click on the Valentine's tag beneath this post to see last year's V-day posts). Little Ballerinas
Saturday after the baby shower we made our way to the dance studio for a sweet little birthday party for Natalie. Unfortunately, Ella fell asleep in between and wasn't very happy when I woke her up! She cried at the party and it wasn't until they started dancing that there was finally a smile on her face. Natalie's mom did a great job with the food and decorations and we had so much fun dancing with the ballet instructor. I don't know how I managed not to get a picture of Ella and the birthday girl, but here are a few of my little ballerina... Sorry that last one is so out of focus - I couldn't resist posting it, though, because the look on her face is too adorable. ...
31 Things
Today is January 31st. Today is our sweet daddy's thirty-first birthday. To celebrate, I thought I'd share 31 things I that I like about him today. 1. He's a daddy who loves sweet little girls who wake up early to color birthday cards. Ella and Molly making birthday cards this morning while SD slept in. 2. That for thirteen years (tomorrow) he's known me better than anyone else. 3. He might be the funniest person I have EVER met. He sings, dances and makes the most off-the-wall comments and it definitely keeps me laughing. 4. He is the best daddy ever. He indulges Ella for the most part, but disciplines her when it's necessary. 5. He builds really good castles, loves to do "fun tricks" and tortures us incessantly. 6. He makes the best hamburgers ever. Seriously. Mine ...
2009 in Pictures
I was thinking about all of the fun things we've done this year and thought since today was the last day of 2009 that I'd share some of our favorite moments. I've added pictures in case you don't want to click on one hundred and seventeen links, but brace yourselves 'cause this post is long... In January, we took an impromptu trip to the beach and I interviewed Ella and got some pretty interesting responses (I should totally do that again soon!). In February, we dressed in red all week to celebrate Valentine's Day! In March, it SNOWED in Alabama and we started talking about daddies! In April, our sweet K & Cory got married and we surprised Ella with a trip to Disney World. In May, we had lunch with a long lost friend and showed you around our princess ...
PJ Day
On Thursday, Ella and her friends had pajama day at "school" and they all wore their Christmas pjs. It was Kaitlyn's birthday and they celebrated with yummy cupcakes. I loved flipping through the pictures of them playing in their pjs... so cute. This isn't everybody, but I loved how funny everybody's faces looked in this one. ...
Small Town Christmas
I live in a small town. A really small town. With a local grocery, one stop light, and a famous Christmas tree, it's the biggest one around. On Monday night our little town hosted its annual Christmas Parade downtown and Ella and I decided to go. SD had to go back out of town after Sophie's debut, so we had the night to ourselves with nothing to do. We put on our warmest clothes and walked, yes walked, downtown for the show. We sat under the train bridge and watched the Miss Merry Christmas princesses, horses, dance troupes and firetrucks go by. We got glow sticks, candy and rosy red cheeks. We laughed and had our picture made under that big Christmas tree. ...
