Psssst. There are affiliate links in this post. Shopping the items linked will give me approximately 0.0006 cents per click. You’ve been warned! I'm usually way ahead of the game when it comes to Valentine's Day crafts. I start shopping the dollar spot and clearance holiday sections at all of my favorite stores right after Christmas and the girls and I spend plenty of time brainstorming catchy slogans for their classroom cards. I know what you're thinking-- I should just buy the cards already -- but I really do enjoy making them from scratch! In years past, we've run the gamut from easy peasy to crazy complicated. I thought it might be fun to do a little recap in case you're looking for inspiration already. Ballerina Themed Lollipop Tutu Tutorial (heart shaped lollipops via ...

I know I've already given you a mini recap of last year's books, but the more I thought about it, the more I wanted to do a full rundown. What if you didn't read here last February? What if you don't know about the best book in August? Maybe you hate to read, but maybe you're looking for your next favorite book right now. How about a little walk down memory lane? Below you'll find cover art for all 52 books, along with links back to my original review posts and links to purchase on Amazon. I made a list of notable things about the books I read last year and I'll be interspersing them ...
THINK | My 2017 One Little Word
It took exactly fifteen days for me to settle on a word for this year. It's funny to look back now, at how hard and how frequently I thought about it. I was discouraged that I didn't have a clear picture for the year -- I wanted a word to meditate on and a target on which to mark my progress this year. I started editing a Bible Journaling post to share this week and it was all about timing. It spoke to wanting to say something specific and having God completely change the conversation. I walked away from it over the weekend and then walked right into my word of the year. Think. Affiliate links appear in the following post. Although shopping the embedded links won’t cost you any additional dollars, it might earn me a small commission on sales. Your support of this blog is much ...
Weekend Update | January
Did anybody else have the best weekend ever? We didn't have any big plans and we stayed pretty close to home, but it was so nice to soak up some quality time outside the guise of a holiday celebration. We have been so busy since our move and coupled with a thousand parties and obligations over the holidays, we haven't had very much unscheduled time together. This weekend will go down as a perfect one. We haven't made any significant purchases for the house yet and we need a lot of furniture. My parents had wrought iron barstools in the kitchen (you can catch a glimpse in the background), but I knew I wanted something without a back, that would slide completely underneath the bar top. I ran into TJMaxx on Wednesday night to grab something completely unrelated and I saw these metal ...

A January Day in the Life
It was clear from my reader survey, that one of the things you want most, is a glimpse into our every day life. While sometimes it seems too uninteresting to share, the overwhelming response was that you love real, normal, life. I do my best to share the good, the bad, and the ugly, but I thought it might be even more fun to share a regular peek into an average day around our home (or elsewhere, depending on the day). Welcome to January 10th. Tuesday was pretty atypical. Sophie had an appointment at the Children's Hospital GI Clinic at 2 o'clock in the afternoon and while that's blocks from my office, it's an hour from home. We kept her out of school and she made the trip with me. Armed with a fully charged iPad and plenty of art supplies, she kept herself busy while I ran all ...
What Should I Read Next?
Disclosure: Affiliate links appear in this post. Any purchases made using these links will earn Taz + Belly a small commission. You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. It's been an entire year since I decided to read a book for every week of the year and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I read so many more books than I have in years past and I really expanded the types of books I was reading. I voluntarily picked up nonfiction (whoa), I started listening to audiobooks, and I even read a few new-to-me classic novels. I knew that I wanted to share a yearly recap, but I doubted anybody wanted a list of all 52 books I tackled. I decided, instead, to mirror the format of one of my favorite podcasts: What Should I Read Next? If you're a reader and not already ...
Coffee with Kristin 007
I'm in the middle of Whole30 or I would be drinking something delicious! Instead, it's coffee, coconut cream and cinnamon -- but at least that's delicious. Amber is still on hiatus, but Erin has our coffee dates going strong. If we were on a coffee date, I would tell you that our weekend was a little eventful. If you've been watching the news you'll know that the south was slated to get a wintry mix this weekend. We were in the range for the highest amount of snow, but of course -- we got nothing. We live in a weird little place and always avoid the most severe weather. There is certainly an upside to that (tornadoes), but my kids weren't thrilled about missing out on the snow. Here's the tricky part. Josh was in Philadelphia this week. He wasn't scheduled to land in Birmingham ...
