This isn't going to be a full bumpdate -- because I usually do those every four weeks -- but since we're running out of time and so many things change on a daily basis, I thought I'd share a few basic stats in between. How Far Along Are You? 34 Weeks (last Wednesday) Total Weight Gain: I'm actually not sure about the exact number this week. My last doctor's appointment was kind of weird -- I'm rotating between doctors in my practice and the appointment was so short that I completely forgot to ask. I do remember looking at the scale and thinking it hadn't moved much, so I'm going to guess between 13-14 pounds total. Maternity Clothes? I've been wearing maternity clothes -- almost exclusively -- since around 14 weeks. My jeans are starting to be uncomfortable and I hate anything ...

I'm not sure I've mentioned it on the blog yet, but we're having to move our driveway from the street our home faces, to the one on our side (our property is in a corner). It's a long, convoluted story, but the short version is -- the drive is too close to a hill and poses a traffic hazard, even though it's been there for thirty years. We gated the original drive this week, so to take this photo -- I had to drive all the way to the gate, get out in the pouring rain, hop back in the car and back down to our other drive. I told my family before I left this morning, not to think I had forgotten about the new drive, I just needed to snap a photo for the blog! It's super weird to think that the next time I take a photo of our house, it will be during baby's birth month?! I remember back in ...
Wishing, Waiting + Nesting
The last year has been weird. When we moved into our home, I had huge expectations for how the following months and years would go, and honestly? Nothing has worked out quite like I expected. I'm a big fan of letting God lead us where we're called, whether that is to big plans or small plans or no plans at all. I thought we would purchase our home within a few months of moving and that surely we would be fully renovated and settled in and starting a new chapter of life with our big kids. I never expected to still be sharing this home with my parents or to completely change our plans when it comes to renovating or to be expecting another baby, yet here we are. To be clear, I couldn't be any happier than I am today. I'm just surprised out how everything has unfolded over the last eighteen ...
Gender Prediction: Putting 24 Old Wives’ Tales to the Test
The biggest pregnancy related question we get -- especially from strangers -- is if we're having a boy or a girl. I wasn't sure how well I would thrive under the pressure of not knowing, but this has honestly been one of our favorite parts of this pregnancy. I think not knowing has shifted the focus from gender specific topics and allowed us some amount of relaxation during the waiting. We don't have a nursery planned yet (baby will sleep in our room for the foreseeable future anyway), we have a very loose list of names to choose from, and we've spent our money on necessities rather than bows or truck printed onesies. I feel sure we'll still get plenty of gender specific items once baby arrives, but I love that we've been able to think less about what this baby is and more about who this ...
The Daily Dime | July 2018
When I was thinking about what day to share for my monthly Day in the Life post, I figured I would snap a few photos one of the days we were in Pensacola and it would do double duty -- day in the life and vacation recap. Since we had already been to the beach once this summer and I had taken a multitude of photos, I planned to rest and read a lot, leaving my camera alone for most of our trip. On Friday, I took zero photos, but I more than made up for it on Saturday and Sunday (accidentally). When I edited these earlier in the week there were 77?! I got it down to 45 before uploading them to WordPress, but I have no idea how many will wind up staying in the post, all said and done. Instead of getting a Daily Dime this month, you are getting a Daily Dose of Insanity. Forgive the ...
Bumpdate | 32 Weeks
I might only be sharing a monthly bumpdate, but I’m still taking weekly photos to share on Instagram — and to preserve for the baby book — so I figured I would catch up at the beginning of each update post. Here are our weekly photos since we last checked on baby. I knew this pregnancy would fly by -- that's what always happens when you swear you're going to enjoy every minutes of something. Since we got back from the beach, I feel like life has been at breakneck speed. Our schedule and to-do list has been so full and even though it's all been good stuff, it's a little overwhelming. I'm going to take a slightly different approach to the remaining pregnancy updates (THERE ARE ONLY TWO LEFT?!) and I'll be back in a few days to share a little more about my current state of ...

Dear Beach Vacation, We've been home for almost three whole weeks and I'm still missing you like crazy. Thankfully we're spending the weekend in the sand again right now, but it just isn't the same without our camper. Dear 2019 Vacations, I know it's only July, but I am so glad to have you booked and on the calendar already. A week on the lake for Spring Break, two weeks at the beach for Summer Vacation -- let's see what else we can plan before the year rolls over. Dear Maternity Leave, Why are you still eight weeks away? Dear Baby, I am so thankful for every move, hiccup, and twitch. I know that all ...
2018 Summer Vacation | Part Two
In case you missed it yesterday, check out the first part of recap here. Confession: I've never actually been crab hunting. I usually bail out of this activity, leaving my husband to torture the kids, while I read in bed. There is something about being pregnant again that has made me so much more maternal than usual. A huge part of me thinks it's completely weird, but the rest of me hopes it will stick around. I opted to tag along and we met my sister and Jennifer at the pier and the let the kids all hunt together. I have so much video footage from this excursion, that I'll need to share at some point. The kids were squealing and the daddies were running around trapping crabs with their bare hands. Jennifer and I walked very slow and Kamin kept us company. At the end ...
