"Ladies and gentlemen, my new boots!" Just in case that last post stressed you out as much as it did me, here is a little pretty to cheer you up. These are Ella's new boots, perfect and polka-dotsy, don't you think? The ones Nana picked out for Christmas were adorable, but didn't take into account Ella's chunky-monkey legs! She swapped them for these and they came in the mail this week. Ella loves them, but refused to be in the picture, so this photo is the best I could do. Awesome, right? ...
Christmas is over?
This is what it looks like when you buy a dead Christmas tree {without knowing it, of course}, then leave it up for six weeks and attempt to take it down and out without the assistance of your able husband. Since Josh has been to the emergency room once, stayed overnight at the hospital, had surgery and been to the doctor twice since we got home on Tuesday and I've worked exactly fourteen hours this week and spent the remainder caring for him, our house still looks like Christmas was yesterday. The trees are the only thing I've managed to take down, the wreath is dead and getting worse by the minute, there are boxes everywhere, about 90 loads of laundry to fold and a trail of junk from the front door to the back door. Josh is sleeping {the Demerol and Percocet helped, I'm sure}, Ella ...
New things to do
Ella always wants us to play in her room {which, of course, we don't mind}. She'll say, "Come in my room. There's toys in there. It's fun." We laugh so hard because it is almost the same speech every time. Today she invited me to play in the kitchen, but I must admit after only 15 days I'm worn out from kitchen play. This time, I suggested something new. Do you think it's weird that my two year old daughter has never played with Play Doh? She got some for Christmas last year and we never even opened it. We got some again this year and I promise we're doing better. We put on our smock, whipped out the rolling pin and cookie cutters and got to work. She kept saying, "It's a new game!" New games are always fun. As a part of my resolution to memorize more scripture this year, I decided ...
Weekend Recap
We've been busy around here this weekend and my house still looks like Christmas. If it wasn't for all of this going on, I might have it all boxed up. Oh well, here's to tomorrow. Guess who rolled around in cat poop and had to have a bath this week? That'd be Beemer. I have managed to find a little time to tackle those resolutions for 2009. Here is a little scrapbooking progress. There has been lots of potty-going around here, especially for leftover Christmas candies. The kitchen is still a HUGE hit. Here she's whipping up peas for Jaz. We went to Kamin & Cory's this morning to help with the reno and guess who looked like she was an Indian chief with war paint? That would Ella and Bunny. If you're wondering why she isn't wearing a shirt it's because she'd already ...
Roll Tide Finale
If you know anything about me, you'd know that I don't really care one way or another for football. BUT, since sweet daddy is a huge fan, we try to let him handle the remote control on nights like this. So in honor of him, we're all donning our Bama gear, yelling Roll Tide and shaking our pom-poms. It is a rare moment in history that our sweet little blog is devoted to football. ...
Hello 2009
This is how Ella rang in the New Year. We just woke up and it's after ten o'clock! Well, it's a new year and I'm ready. And since I've never formally declared any New Year's resolutions, I'm going to join in the fun today. Only I'm thinking more like accomplishments. This I want to achieve and change. The word accomplishment is defined as the act of completion. That says it all doesn't it? This year I want to: be a more prayerful person; read the bible through, with the help of a new devotion guide; spend more time doing what Ella wants to do instead of what I want her to; spend less and save more - eliminate debt Dave Ramsey style; lose twenty pounds and get back to my pre-pregnancy weight {elliptical here I come!}; get organized, pay bills early and eliminate ...
Tuesday.
It was Tuesday, which means it was my last day at home before returning to work and real life. I really enjoyed being a stay-at-home-mom. I loved sleeping late and eating doughnuts with Ella for breakfast. I enjoyed watching The Rescuers and Horton Hears a Who today. I even enjoyed being a short-order cook and eating chicken fingers, fries and ketchup AGAIN tonight. I enjoyed living in a dirty house, with remnants of wrapping and Christmas toys lying around... because it meant just one more day of quality time with Josh, Belle and Beemer. I enjoyed plastic food and invisible tea. I loved videotaping Ella playing with Jaz {her new baby's name} and dancing, cheering and making up songs. I loved watching Jack's Big Music Show and laughing when she tried to remember the words. I loved her ...
Just in Case
Just in case you were wondering what we're up to. Yesterday we... slept until almost 9 o'clock {a record for Ella}, ate cheerios and coffee for breakfast, went to TJMaxx, Old Navy and Gap, ate lunch at Chipotle, fought crazy people at Target for Christmas lights and decor, bought groceries, had a major meltdown in the dairy department, forgot to buy an iron {Beemer broke ours earlier in the day}, got a late start on our nap, read books, played with our princess castle, kissed daddy goodbye {he had a basketball game}, put on polka-dotsie pajamas, cooked chicken fingers and french fries, ate lots of ketchup, cried during our first viewing of Charlotte's web {both of us}, and took a silly picture of ourselves. ...
