Guess what I did tonight? I went to Hancock and bought 12 yards of nubby muslin. I made the little table cloth right the first time, but the big one was too small and I had to rip it all apart and start over. That's why it is 11:20 and I'm not asleep yet. In between all of that, I made dinner, watched American Idol with Ella, )side note -- she was ECSTATIC when Jason Mraz came out singing I'm Yours -- she kept saying "Mom, that's my new song!" So cute!) and took the dog out about sixteen-hundred times. I really wanted to read some more of my book tonight, but it isn't looking good. Instead I think I'll read the back of my eyelids and think about praying for SD tomorrow. Don't tell him, okay? ...
Water Baby
While I should have been doing something industrious last night... like working in the yard, doing laundry, or vacuuming, Ella & I ordered a pizza, watched American Idol and played in the bathtub. I was in bed by 8:30 reading this and asleep by 9. I wish I could pull that off everyday. ...
See?
Just in case you didn't believe me when I said I didn't have anything to say. Here's a look into an average evening in the princess household. I brought home Chipotle, her favorite meal We had a picnic Beemer tried to share So Ella took the pico for herself She stole my spot on the couch and thought it was really funny We finally watched Survivor... YEAH JT! (Ella took this one) Read a few stories Got a sweet surprise And took up our usual spot on the couch where Ella hoards her favorite belongings ...
Back by popular demand
Well, sort of. I've gotten asked a couple of times this weekend where I've been and why I haven't been blogging. The honest answer is sometimes there just isn't anything to say. Add to that the fact that I hadn't folded laundry in about ten days, I had an itch to spend a little money and we were having my parents and Kamin & Cory over for dinner and you can pretty much forget about it. I've been looking for matching rugs for my living room and dining room for months, but I've really focused on that for the last 6-8 weeks. I cannot spend upwards of $1000 on a single rug, since I need two. My living and dining rooms open to one another and act like one large room. I had a rug that I liked in the living room, but was having a hard time finding something coordinate. I've been looking at ...

UPDATED 8:17 PM (see bottom of post) and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Remember that story? Well, today... that could have been me. Let me just whip out the numbered list and you can see what I mean. 1. I parked at a meter today because I thought it might rain. 2. It didn't rain, so the meter maids were out in full force. 3. After thinking I wouldn't have to walk a block to my car, I didn't want to. 4. I paid the meter twice this morning. 5. The third time, I decided to move my car. 6. It wouldn't crank. 7. I ran inside to call CAPS for a free jump-off. 8. I got a parking ticket. Thirty bucks. Crap. 9. They jumped me off and I left work early. 10. I called Josh to tell him and he was in the process of receiving a speeding ...
MD Roundup
Remember that fabulous Mother's Day I was talking about this morning? Well, it went almost according to plan. Except that it was raining this afternoon when I took a nap and Ella had a meltdown or twelve. In fact, we had the pleasure of listening to the demon that possessed her sweet little curly headed self tonight for about 25 minutes while she screamed from her bed. Ah, it's the small things in life that make motherhood wonderful. In spite of that little outburst, I had a wonderful day. And I couldn't wish for anything more than a cranky little girl screaming to close the day. Just kidding. Well, almost. Happy Mother's Day to these three women who make my life so much better: Nana, Gran, and Granmom. ...
Happy Mother’s Day
I used to dream of being a mother without knowing if that would ever happen. I still dream of making more babies without knowing how that will turn out. Either way, I cannot imagine my life being any better than it is today. My house may be small, but it's cozy and old and it's where we brought our sweet Ella home that very first time. My floors may be dusty and the laundry not folded, but my daughter is snuggled on the couch, happy and healthy. We may not have a lot of money or a lot of things, but I have a wonderful husband who provides for me spiritually, emotionally and financially. My day got off to a great start. Ella slept with us last night, so I got to snuggle her early this morning. She & SD made me pigs in a blanket for breakfast this morning. This is funny because Ella ...
