Catch up on our Disney Recaps here: Disney Travel with a Newborn | Disney Part One I know the post title says "Disney World," and the first photo is from Universal Studios, but you know what I mean, right? We had never been to Universal before and decided that since the girls are both old enough to ride pretty much everything, we would spend one day there during our trip. My mom kept the littlest girls and we headed out for a day of roller coasters. Let me preface this by saying that we only bought tickets for one of the two parks. We could have done a dual pass for the day, but our trip was already more expensive that we'd planned and with only a single day to devote to Universal, we were worried we wouldn't couldn't fit it all in. This meant we only saw half of the Wizarding World ...
Disney 2018 | Part One
I'm backdated this post, since it never published yesterday (chalk it up to weird internet issues because of our "faux snow day." If you're lucky, you might get two posts in one day! Catch up on our Disney Recaps here: Disney Travel with a Newborn I said this on Monday, but it's so weird to think this trip was more than eight weeks ago. Polly looks so little in these photographs, but it doesn't feel that long ago. I took so many pictures -- except the day I forgot my camera and we relied on iPhones and park photographers -- so these recaps will be short on words and long on photographs. If you have any questions about our itinerary or details, please leave a comment and I'll respond to your questions there! I told you this on Monday, but we flew into Orlando bright and early on a ...

I'm a known procrastinator, so it should be no surprise that we visited Disney World back in November and I'm just now getting around to posting about it. I'm doing good to brush my teeth most days, so blogging with any regularity isn't likely. The girls and I were just talking yesterday about how it's been almost nine weeks since our trip -- it doesn't seem like that long ago, but I know the details are probably already getting fuzzy. I wanted to be sure I captured all of ...

I get questions all the time about what baby products we're loving and which ones we could do without. I set out on this third baby journey intending to parent with as few products as possible. I remember being so overwhelmed with stuff with our first two and I didn't want to feel like we were living in a giant baby storage container this time. We've managed to end up with far more than I intended -- we bought a few things, got plenty of gifts, and received quite a few promotional products to review -- but after a few ...
Adventures in Baby-Wearing
We’ve all heard some version of, “Don’t hold your babies too much, you’ll spoil them rotten!” Despite those countless reminders otherwise, you can’t spoil a newborn. Babies are born into an unfamiliar world with no context for what’s going on around them. As the parent of a newborn, it’s our job to prove ourselves trustworthy and reliable. We do this by responding to their cries, feeding them when they’re hungry, changing their dirty diapers, and holding them when they need us. Sometimes my daughter is fussy for no reason, and wearing her provides instant comfort and security. I'm sharing six things you should know about baby wearing, including why it makes happier babies and moms, over on the Birmingham Mom's Blog today. I'd love for you to head over and read all about our ...
Christmas Things | Part Three
I'm finally wrapping up our holiday season with a few of my favorite days! You can check up on parts one and two of our Christmas Things, if you didn't get to read them earlier in the month. I’m on record with Christmas Eve bring my favorite day of the year. One of the things I miss most about our old house is being able to lay in bed, after Santa made his delivery, and see everything that he brought. I love the satisfaction of knowing you just granted all of their wishes in a matter of minutes. This year, I was afraid we’d have a few creepers, so I convinced Santa to make his delivery during Polly’s first nursing session of the morning. The big girls slept until almost seven, so it worked out perfectly. My mom mom bought this cute Santa mug and plate for part of Polly’s ...
Christmas Things | Part Two
How about we continue recapping Christmas in January? I've got a few more photo-filled posts, plus a look at how I organized and packed my Christmas decor this year. Maybe by February, I'll be thinking more about the new year! If you missed our first Christmas Things post, you can check it out here. I remember telling you (and Ella!), last year, that she wouldn't ever have to have her picture made with Santa Claus again. She was feeling a little silly in last year's picture, but my sister and I both really wanted her in the group photo for Vera's first Christmas. Never in a million years did I expect to have another baby, but it's clear that I spoke prematurely. We talked about it on and off all season and I was finally able to convince her to take a photo with her sisters. She skipped ...

You can read more about our affiliate relationships here. four months as of January 5, 2019 I guess I'll forever be a few weeks late on this updates, but I like seeing her stats and chatting with her doctor about developmental things before writing the posts. I did mean to take the photo on time this month, but the ever elusive daylight is hard to catch and our weekend was so full, that I finally managed to snag some photos of her yesterday. How adorable is she?! Height + Weight: At her two month visit, Polly weighed 11 lbs 15 oz and at this month's visit, she weighed 14 lbs and 3 oz -- she's getting so big! On top of the weight she's gained, she's almost 26 ...
