My grandparents live on the same street as we do. And the same street as my sister, my parents and all of my mom's siblings. Small town, huh? I don't know if you'd technically call it a farm, but that what I call it. My Pop raises cows and grows hay because he loves to. In fact, he told me he had been thinking about selling the tractors and the cows and buying a fishing boat. He changed his mind and bought a new tractor instead; he was afraid he might get bored. We spent the afternoon at their house yesterday, riding the tractor, planting flowers, playing hide-and-go-seek and picking strawberries. It was a beautiful day. At first it was just me, Ella & Sophie enjoying the sunshine with Pop & Gran-mom. Then my mom got there, then K and Cory. Three more of my aunts and a ...
Stationary.
Mother's Day was wonderful. I got breakfast in bed and made some home videos. Ella made me pretty pictures in Sunday School and Children's Church. We went to church twice and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Time was spent with our sweet mommies. I had McDonald's for lunch and a DQ Blizzard for dinner. The girls were wonderful and we got a long afternoon nap. Today, we've been lazy. We had pigs in a blanket for breakfast and watched movies in our pjs. Ella & Sophie have been sleeping since noon. We were going to plant flowers, but it rained. I'm looking forward to cooking bacon and eggs for dinner. And to seeing SD, after a long day with no adult conversation. It's nice to be stationary, but I'm thinking tomorrow is going to be a "get up and go" ...
My Day
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a mother. Doesn’t every little girl put a pillowcase on her head and dream of the wedding… then stroll their baby dolls around and think about the perfect life? I always assumed I would marry young, go to grad school, teach elementary art and have a house full of children. All before I was thirty. That isn’t exactly how things turned out. I did meet my soul-mate pretty early in life; I was seventeen and he was captain of the football team. Pretty cliché, right? I knew not long after that that we would spend our lives together, and we have. We married the summer after I graduated college because he didn’t want to wait the one more year it would take for grad school. I always planned to go back, but never did. Although my plans took a very ...
Flying Solo
So, Friday was my first official day at home with both girls by myself and it was so much fun. SD has been working some and getting out of the house for several hours at a time over the last week, but yesterday was the first day where he was gone when the girls and I got up and he wasn't home until after nap time. I was a little nervous about how we'd manage, but it turned out to be a very nice day and Ella was such a big helper. We started the day with blueberry muffins, snuggling in the floor watching Eloise at the Plaza. If you have little girls and haven't seen this movie, it is adorable. It is running on the Disney Channel right now and we've watched it three times! The girls must have looked awfully snuggly, because it wasn't long before Beemer joined in the fun. The ...
Go Fish
This is my new favorite outfit for Sophie. I snagged it {among other things} for $7 at the Gap this week. I love the sale rack there a little too much. Right, SD? ...

Big Girl
Somebody's been sleeping in her very own bed. Sophie started out in a bassinet in our room, just like Ella. At two weeks, she started getting a little fussy and spent a few nights in between us in the big bed. On Friday night, we decided to give her crib a try and see what happened. What happened, was four to five hours of sleep at a time and only one nursing session in the middle of the night! We had an even better night on Saturday that included a six hour stretch. Last night she got up twice, but we are still sleeping much better around here. Life is starting to return to a new normal and we are loving every second of it. ...
