Sorry for the blog delay, a long weekend at the beach (again) will do that do you. Fortunately, we had a blast and I have lots of sweet pictures to share. My plan was to edit and upload them at lunch, but I just noticed that my hard-drive must be at home. Here's a quick family pic just to keep the grandparents from complaining too much. Instead of a beach recap, how about a list? We are done carrying Sophie to restaurants. Done. Maybe we'll try again in six months, maybe not. Out of two dinners out while we were at the beach last weekend, she was escorted from the table by a parent no less than 5 times. A few times for false potty alarms, once for a bathroom spanking, once to play outside while the other civilized members of our family finished their meals and once to be ...
Sophie at TWO
I know I've said this about a hundred times, but I am seriously blessed to have such a talented photographer as my sister. Obviously, I love her for a million other reasons, but she is so good to me and takes pictures of my girls pretty much whenever I ask. Her summer mini-sessions this year were perfect timing and I decided to use my spot for Sophie's two-year-old photo shoot. We threw in a few sister pictures, but Ella will get her very own shoot in the fall as a SIX year old. Seriously? How did she get so big? I digress. I usually do smocked dresses or elaborate get-ups, but this year we did simple. My mom made Sophie these precious wide-leg chambray pants and I picked up the white, lace top at Target. The gingham bow was a "going out of business sale" find several years ago for Ella. ...
Vacation, Part 2
On Thursday of our vacation we spent most of the day at the pool. I wish we had a water park or splash pad closer to home, because these two girls loved it! There is a fence to keep them in and it is pretty impossible to drown. I laid my towel on the very edge and watched them run and play all morning. All of a sudden, Ella wants to pose everywhere. It is all I can do to keep a straight face while I'm snapping away. I swear she looks like a junior Victoria's Secret model?! Of course, we had to stop for snack more than once throughout the day! Friday was our last full day to spend in the sand. Everyone in my family came to the beach that day and it made for quite the sight. I wish I had taken a picture at sunset -- there were no less than five weddings taking place behind us ...
Red, White & Blue!
We had a pretty spectacular fourth of July. We spent the day in the water, eating good food and followed it up with a fantastic evening of fireworks and front yard football. Wanna see? Project 365: Week Twenty-Seven
<pstyle="text-align: justify;">Sunday, July 1 (Day 182): After church, Josh & I headed to see his brother's new house. Our girls stayed home with Nana and scored these super cute nightgowns. I couldn't resist a sweet picture before bedtime. Monday, July 2 (Day 183): Roast beef roll-up and watermelon for dinner, while I finally catched up on blogging. Tuesday, July 3 (Day 184): For lunch with one of my favorite people, I finally tried Flip Burger. The fries were SO good, but the best part was the smoked mayo to dip them in. AMAZING. Wednesday, July 4 (Day 185): Happy Independence Day! We watched the evening fireworks with these pretty, patriotic girls. Thursday, July 5 (Day 186): Our Bible Study met on Thursday because of the holiday this week and while we were meeting ...
Project 365: Week Twenty-Six
Sunday, June 24 (Day 175): It was another day at the pool for me, thank goodness. Lucky me, Kamin brought this treasure that a friend bought at a yardsale. It didn't fit either of them, so I got a fun dress for free! It needs a tiny alteration, but I can't wait to give it a spin. Monday, June 25 (Day 176): We got the great news about Ella's invitation to participate on a competition class this year. I couldn't resist picking up flowers on my way home to celebrate. She was tickled pink! Tuesday, June 26 (Day 177): I am flipping obsessed with these chapsticks. Have you tried them? There are no less than three in my bag at any given time. Wednesday, June 27 (Day 178): I worked on my Christmas list for awhile on Wednesday. Am I a nerd because I'm almost completely done with the girls? ...
Vacation, Part 1
I took in the neighborhood of 250 photographs while we were on vacation and I uploaded about 75 of those. Since it would be a bit gratuitous to try and include all of those in a single post, I'll share them over the next several days. Each day pretty much looks exactly the same, but they are all too cute not to share! We left for the beach on Saturday evening after Ella's dance recital. We drove to Prattville, ate a quick bite at Chick-fil-A for dinner and put on our pajamas in the bathroom. Ella finally went to sleep between Montgomery and Greenville and slept the rest of the way down. We stopped in Bay Minette for gas and a potty break and were in Gulf Shores before midnight. Since we couldn't pick up our RV until Monday morning, we crashed with my parents in their pop-up on Saturday ...
Recital Recap | Three Years
It's official: I'm a dance mom. But I'll tell you about that in a minute. This was such a fun year for Ella and I have to admit, I pretty much loved it, too. Not only does she love her studio, her teachers and her friends, but I have really enjoyed meeting the other moms and hanging out with them during class each week. As tired as we are on Thursday nights after class, I know that this is benefiting us both in so many ways. This year, she moved up into the Tiny Dancer 2 class and the group of girls she danced with could not have been more adorable. They had such a great time together this year and it was so fun watching them grow over the last ten months. They are such little hams and even when they weren't on stage, they always had their dance faces on! Her first two years, Ella ...
