85/265: Monday, I tried hot yoga for the first time. A new yoga studio opened in our neighborhood and I am so thrilled! The classes are small and affordable and there is something almost every day. I've taken two classes now and I'm hoping to go once or twice a week. 86/365: Tuesday, I hit the treadmill again because it was pretty chilly outside. I loathe treadmill running. I'm slower and I get fatigued a lot faster. Not to mention, it is super boring to watch yourself in the mirror for more than a few minutes. Later that night, SK threw a little impromptu tea party in the playroom. Presh, right? 87/365: I've decided the only downside the running, working out and weight loss is that my rings don't fit that great any more. Even though I'm still a little bigger than I was when I got ...
Dailies / Week 12
78 & 79/365: Just lots of running. Really, that's pretty much all Monday & Tuesday amounted to. My goal was to run 50 miles in March, but it wasn't looking good! 80/365: I finally got my 13.1 sticker while my car was in the shop, so once we were reunited, it joined our Roll Tide sticker on the back window. I'm pretty proud of this! 81/365: On Thursday, I finally remembered to download the new JT album and let him serenade me while I battled the treadmill. Those are some really long songs! 82/365: My girls were in rare form Friday night while we were watching basketball. 83/265: Beemer snuggled up with me on the couch for some catching up on the DVR while the girls napped and Josh worked out. 84/365: Just the first of many days devoted to JM. He's on heavy rotation these ...
Dailies / Week 11
71/365: My car was finally put back into one piece and I got to return the rental car. The worst part is that the wreck was my fault and I had the privilege of shelling out almost $700 when all was said and done. 72/365: I was finally running again and logged a few country miles once I got home from work. 73/365: Another lunch time run and a photo for a snarky text to Josh. Although I never had a booty to begin with, I couldn't help but sending this and saying "Look... I literally, ran my booty off!!" I know, cheese. 74/365: We had dinner with the wedding party (for Josh's brother's wedding) on Thursday night and the girls got a little gift for being the flower girls. Sophie was QUITE taken with her pretty pink lipgloss. 75/365: I find myself doing this at work a lot. I ...
Dailes / Week 10
64/365: I was pretty happy to see on Facebook that Monday morning that JM was doing a one-night show in Tuscaloosa in April. I asked SD if he would buy me a ticket for Mother's Day and he one better and offered to take me. He is NOT a fan, so this is a sacrifice. Only the third concert we've seen together in sixteen years. I scored great seats, 16th row, dead center. After lunch that same day, I managed to pound out a little over three miles with an average pace of 8:41. While I'm not sure that the splits are accurate, the overall time and distance is, so I was still pretty pleased! 65/365: Another lunch time run and a confession about how bad my purse was looking. That is a LOT of stuff! In my defense, I'd had a fender bender a week or so before and had a ton of paperwork in my purse ...
Dailies / Week 9
57/365: Last Monday was so much fun! My sister & her husband finally found out they they are having a sweet boy (Hudson Ray - who SK refers to as "husband") and we had a wonderful party to celebrate. How adorable is that cake her friend made for the reveal? 58/365: Sweet Emry Kate finally came home from the hospital on Monday afternoon, so I ran dinner over to Ryan and her family after work on Tuesday. Even though I had seen Emry in the hospital, this was the first time I got to get my hands on her. What a cutie! 59/365: I had a referral credit in my Stitch Fix account on Wednesday morning when I woke up and even though $25 won't go very far, I was SUPER excited. Yay for free clothes. 60/365: At dance class on Thursday, Ella got her jazz costume for their competition later this ...
A Little Artsy
A few weeks ago was Ella's art show at kindergarten and she was thrilled to have won an award. We had to have a conversation about getting a 2nd place ribbon instead of 1st, but she can't help it if she's competitive. Her mommy did go to art school after all! We joked with her about how precise her drawing is. That kid couldn't be more obsessive if she wanted to. And note the vigorous use of negative space. She's definitely a "less is more" kind of kid. Of course we managed some pictures with our bestie, Conner, and his super-colorful clown. Sophie was the life of the party (as usual) but was really excited to see Mailie Kate now that's she's in school at not staying with her at Heidi's everyday. She was also pretty impressed that they matched and were both wearing pink and green. ...
Circus Time!
As you know, we love the circus at our house and (as if I don't say it every year) our Nana & Cookie are so sweet to buy us primo tickets for Christmas every year. Just when I think the girls will opt out one year, they see the commercial on television and go nuts! We were hoping to take Sophie to the elephant parade this year, but logistically we just couldn't work it out. We are definitely doing it with both girls next year, even if it means they have to go to work with me. We were smart enough to go early for the pre-show his year and got a great spot to watch the elephants paint. It will be easy to tell from these pictures that the elephants are everyone's favorite! I didn't get nearly as many photos this year because somebody (ahem, Sophie) wouldn't sit still and then there was ...
Poppy’s Big Surprise
My mom decided to surprise my dad with a little party this year for his 60th birthday. We usually do a family dinner for birthdays, but this time we enjoyed it with 30 of our favorite people. Josh and the other men in our family took him out for an early dinner at Dreamland BBQ while my sister and I helped mom set everything up. Of course, dinner was uncharacteristically short and Josh ended up having to stall all the way home, but by they time they arrived we were all ready. We had been so worried he had figured it out, so we were thrilled to see this face when he turned the corner. ...
