I had big plans to have Polly photographed every three months of her first year, but we are far busier than I expected and that never happened. I did manage to invite my sister over on a Tuesday morning to snap a few photos of us before Polly’s nap time and they totally make up for our lack of a three month session. These were taken about a week after she turned six months old and they perfectly capture what life was like for us then.
A friend, who’s also a local photographer and super mama and gives great breastfeeding advice, encouraged me to have my sister take some nursing photos for us. I’ll keep most of those private, for obvious reasons, but these are a few of my favorites. She was right and I will forever me thankful that I have this little moment in time captured.
Polly was going through a very serious phase and it was hard to get her to smile on camera. We tried everything and only got a few responses, but her sweet face is still my favorite. We managed to catch the yard in that perfect state, before Josh started mowing all of my weeds down and everything looked wild and wonderful.
My mom sewed a custom sling and matching aviator bonnet for us, for Easter, and they turned out so perfect! I cannot get enough of this sweet face with that bow under her neck.
The sling proved a little more difficult to use, in real life, because the fabric isn’t as forgiving as our WildBirds are, but it was perfect for this photo session and I’m so glad we have them. Just look at that snuggly girl below?
We also grabbed a few of her in her Easter bubble and managed to get a really big grin and a few more snuggles with mama.
Isn’t she perfect?
