Today’s post will be super brief, because WE’RE HAVING A BABY?! I know I’ve mentioned that we were within a few days of delivery, but I haven’t shared many specifics, just because I didn’t want an influx of questions that I didn’t have time to respond to. We are having a baby today, barring any scheduling conflicts with mamas already in labor, so by the time you read this, we might already be a family of FIVE. I love record keeping and didn’t want a gap in this series of posts, so I scheduled this a few days ago and hope that it tides you over until we have baby pictures to share.
P.S. I know my blog has already turned into baby central, but let me apologize that these answers will probably all be related to pregnancy and delivery. It’s all I have to talk about at the moment!
starting | I’m starting to freak out a little bit. I’m beside myself with excitement and can’t wait to meet this little person, but I’m anxious about surgery and nursing and healthcare and learning to care for a baby again.
buying | I’ve bought just about everything there is to buy at this point, but I imagine I’ll be doing some very gender-specific internet shopping from my hospital bed tomorrow! I did order these burps cloths when I realized I had exactly zero (I grabbed these to try, too), I ordered this random car product after hearing about it on a podcast, and I spent a ridiculous amount of money on tap shoes for Ella last week. I hope your shopping cart is more fun than mine!
sharing | We will be sharing a baby announcement on Instagram, later this afternoon. I expect we’ll be in a room by late afternoon, but we’ll be introducing baby to its big sisters and enjoying the company of family. I promise not to keep you waiting too long, but be patient with us as we enjoy the day.
reading | I haven’t read very much this month and have exactly zero qualms about it. I did love being on the launch team for I’d Rather Be Reading (even though pregnancy kept me from participating as much as I would like) and since it came out yesterday, you should go buy it! I also devoured this book about six months earlier than necessary, but it’s so interesting. After polling the audience and getting new library cards, I also grabbed this series for Ella to start. Yes, it’s cheesy, but the content is limited and we needed some good in between books for her. I’m hoping that they’ll tide her over through the end of the year.
recording | This week, I’m recording all of the memories in this baby book and this journal. I have already loved writing for baby and keeping up with all of the sweet moments we are enjoying this year.
