The first time Kelly hosted bloggers for Show Us Your Life (way back in 2010), I had tiny little girls and a baby blog (I had only been at this for about eighteen months). I didn’t link up every week (the home tours were definitely my favorites), but it was a super fun way to connect with other bloggers near and far. When I saw her announcement earlier this week that she was bringing back SUYL, I thought it would be a super fun to jump in occasionally. I didn’t have anything planned for today’s post, so a little reintroduction sounded just perfect. If you’re a regular, bear with me while I dish about all the things you already know. If you’re new here, grab a cup of coffee and let’s get to know each other a little bit better.
My name is Kristin (I love a random parenthetical) and I blog here at Taz + Belly about faith and family, small town living, books I’m reading, healthy meals and being a dance mom / artist / occasional runner. I’d call it a “lifestyle” blog, but since I’m not exactly cool enough for that, we’ll just call it what it is: a place to dish about allthethings going on in my life, relevant or not.
I “met” my husband sometime around the second grade, but paid him no mind until he asked me out junior year. We were an unlikely couple, but have managed to survive the last nineteen years together intact. I think we have an unconventional relationship given that we pretty much adore each other, spend tons of time together and only raise our voices occasionally. We love to binge-watch Netflix over a glass of wine, squeeze in as many concerts (and football games) as possible, read all the things and take annual getaways sans kids. I don’t know what I had planned out in my head when I thought about marriage, but there is no way it was as cool as what I ended up with.
We have two of the cutest kids on the planet. I know that all parents (especially bloggers) say that, but seriously — these people are adorable. We struggled for a bit to have babies, so I think we do a pretty good job of appreciating how awesome the privilege of raising them is. Obviously, they drive me crazy on a regular basis, but I’ve learned to hold it all together until bedtime rolls around. Ella is almost ten (what in the ever loving heck?) and has a mouth the size of Texas. She is witty and sarcastic and only ever gets into trouble when she speaks. Like, every time. Sophie will be six next month and is obsessed with unicorns and her ratty blanket, Pink. She never gets in trouble at all because she is terrified that you might not like her. She is a people-pleaser to the core!
In case it wasn’t obvious, we love Jesus. A lot. We’ve been attending a new church for almost nine months and it is so life-giving and has completely revolutionized worship for me. I found Bible Journaling a little over a year ago and with it came crazy new opportunities, some really great friends and a way to marry the Word and creativity that I never would have imagined. I share a lot about my Bible in this space (I wrote about it for the entire month of October) and occasionally share process videos and photo tutorials.
And just in case you still haven’t figured out what we’re all about… we love camping (and long romantic walks on the beach), birthday parties are our love language and we share all sorts of fun family-friendly printables on the reg. I’m super happy you came to visit today and I hope you’ll “click” around. I can’t wait to spend some time working my way through the blogs who linked up today and find some new (to me) reads. Happy weekend, friends!
