When the pandemic struck and I was struggling to blog or memory keep with any regularity, I started adding to a note in my phone. I jotted down all of the funny things Polly says when we aren’t expecting it and I regularly read through them when I need a good laugh. It’s almost time to celebrate her third birthday and start a new note for her fourth year of life (WHAT IN THE WORLD?!). Maybe I’ll transfer those to her baby book at some point, but the blog is as good as it gets today.
Here are some of my favorite things Polly has said in the last year:
I’m not a camel, I’m a kitty cat!
Let’s go to my castle! (When riding the golf cart towards our house.)
Cut my tails (toenails), please.
(When Gran gets on to her) — I want to go home and see my family. (When Gran says “We are your family.”) — No, my other family.
I’m not going to break my neck either — I just flipped.
Is it time a nunch? (Time for lunch — she replaces so many consonants with the letter “N”)
I’m not a “grownut,” I’m a princess!
I don’t feel better. (Instead of I don’t feel good.)
What’s last (next) on the list?
Cluck-a-little-do (When asked what a rooster says.)
What you just said? (She says this frequently when she missed part of the conversation.)
“J” is for jellybeans, Josh & Jesus!
She recently referred to me as her Old Dang Mama and we can’t get her to stop saying it?!
My nose is sniffing something (When we picked up BBQ takeout recently). I fink it’s french fries!
Youtube is not cooperating! (When an ad or commercial is displayed.)
And a few of her funny pronunciations:
Lalerlelon (watermelon)
Hen-i-go (here you go)
Last year (yesterday)
Ahnge (orange)
Broking (broken)
Bolly-bolly (volleyball)
Polki-nuts (polka dots — pronounced similarly to coconuts)
