Another month has gone by and I’m still so surprised at how little time I have to myself. I sat down today to catch up on the block and subsequently broke something on my back end. I’m typing this post in hopes I’ll get to share it soon, but at the moment I can’t add photos or make any adjustments in the text editor. Frustrating much?
appreciating | We’re still in for many hot days in Alabama, but I’ve been appreciating the little nod to fall every morning. The morning temperatures have been low and the humidity not nearly as heavy, so sitting outside has actually been tolerable. It will probably be November before we can really wear long sleeves, but a girl can dream!
anticipating | Is it terrible to say I’m anticipating our girls’ first five consecutive days of school next week!? They’ve been going on a staggered schedule for four weeks (we go Monday/Tuesday and have virtual school the remainder of the week), but our district announced that we would return for a regular schedule next Monday. I’m a little nervous and hope that we don’t have a school-side outbreak, but my girls are super excited about seeing friends at the other end of the alphabet! I would be lying if I said I wasn’t also excited for some normalcy around here.
collecting | Like everyone else during quarantine, I’ve found myself collecting houseplants this year. I’ve always been a self-professed brown thumb, but with some help from my mom and a beautiful sun room, I’ve actually managed to keep some plants alive (and thriving!) this year. I picked up a Philodendron Xanadu from a local plant shop last week and it’s my new favorite thing.
starting | After several recommendations on Instagram, I’m picking up The Court of Thorns and Roses from the library tomorrow morning. I’ve been spending lots of time on non-fiction reads this past month, so it’s time for something more frivolous.
finishing | I have so many house projects that I’d like to finish before the holidays, so I’m wrapping up my upstairs punch list in advance of those. The first few weeks the girls were in school, I used Polly’s nap time to finish some things in their rooms and the landing area at the top of the stairs. I’m determined to get my downstairs painted this fall, so I needed to check off a few other projects before opening that can of worms. Did I mention I’ll be doing it myself?!
