For what seems like the millionth month in a row, I’m late joining Anne for this month’s link up (by a month!), but I would still encourage you to visit her blog and see the others who participated. I’m not doing so great when it comes to keeping up with blogs, but hers is one of my favorite, and I’m trying to keep up with a few while I’m at home these many weeks.
We’re kind of in survival mode over here and I haven’t talked much about what is going on with us, beyond our Coronivirus Diary entries. This Currently series is one of my favorites and always such a fun way to catch you up on very specific areas in our lives.
sharing | One of the only reasons I’m surviving this bizarre season of life is that I’m still sharing so many stories with my closest friends. Jennifer and I have been texting non-stop about all the questions we have, shows we’re watching, and what to read next. My small group and I are offering spiritual advice, prayers, and practical tips for surviving kids while working from home. My husband and I are swapping all of the most inappropriate memes back and forth each evening and it’s my very favorite part of the day.
writing | I’ve been writing a diary series to keep track of what we’re doing and how we’re feeling during our self-isolation. There are so many things I want to remember and it’s been a great way to documents those things for myself (and you, too!). I am also encouraging the girls to write a few sentences each day and I’m planning to print those for their memory boxes, once life goes back to normal.
wishing | Speaking of which, I’m ready for life to go back to normal. I have a hotel reservation that I need to cancel. We just got work that the girls won’t be traveling for cheer camp in July and I’m starting to thing our summer beach vacation isn’t going to happen. I’m hopeful we can steal away for a few days before next school year returns, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
investigating | Josh has been doing lots of research and calculations for the next phase of our home renovation. He’s pouring concrete countertops in our kitchen, both bathrooms, and creating a new concrete top for our dining room table. I’m insisting on white in the kitchen and dining room, so he’s been investigating the best way to make that happen.
buying | We are so fortunate not to have been hit with a job loss or furlough situation and that blessing is not lost on me. And while we haven’t been spending frivolously when it comes to extra things, our home renovation is still in full swing. The flooring for our second floor should be here this week and we’re already working on the supply list for our next project. I’m hoping the mortgage rates continue to drop and/or stay low, because we’re hoping to refinance once our renovation is mostly done.
