A week later is better than never, right? I realized yesterday that I never took or shared a photo of our living room on the first of the month. There have been times when I was a day or two late (since I don’t post on Instagram every day), but never eleven! We’ve been spending all of our free time working in the girls’ rooms and I just haven’t had much else to share — or the time to share it.
I would like to note that despite the horrible photo quality, it’s a huge achievement that my Christmas tree is not in this photo. It was definitely still hanging around on January 1 and it was questionable whether or not I would get it down before February rolled around.
It’s too late to link up with Anne (whomp, whomp), but I haven’t missed a Currently post in quite a long time, so I decided to go ahead and share it with you anyway.
loving | I am really loving how the white walls look in our second floor. We still have so much to accomplish upstairs before we move all of the furniture back in, but I can already tell that the light, bright spaces are exactly what I wanted.
embracing | What if I’m trying to embrace — does that count? I’ve been going to the gym 5+ times a week and have seriously reduced by calorie count since January and I haven’t seen much progress. I don’t have a scale at home and don’t really care what “my number” is, I just want to know that my hard work isn’t for nothing. I’m ready to be strong and wear all of my favorite pants, but I’m trying to embrace the process for now. Ask me again in another month.
tasting | I’m tasting all the avocado toast, even if mine isn’t as fancy as Anne’s. I needed something quick and easy that I could prepare for breakfast at work and toast fits the bill. For less than 300 calories, I can have two pieces of Dave’s Killer Bread with smashed avocado, bagel seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
wearing | I am so proud of myself for this answer, but I have been wearing and re-wearing the same times over and over since the holidays. I am trying so hard to stay on top of this wardrobe tracking and stop buying inexpensive items that I retire after a season or two.
preparing | We’ve been preparing for Valentine’s Day all week and Sophie is the most excited. Josh and I don’t really do holiday gifts and since he and Ella are headed to an away game Friday night, Soph and I are planning a date. We’re debating Panera and a local Mexican restaurant and planning to read together after Polly is in bed. She’s been very into reading together lately and I love that it allows me to log some extra pages at night!
