It looks like we have rain in the forecast for tomorrow, so our candy dreams may or may not happen. I’m thankful we went to our favorite local trunk-or-treat on Sunday and already have plenty of Halloween pictures to share!
Ella only dresses up for her friends these days, but she did join us for the evening (with a little coercing from her mom) and even volunteered to help with Sophie’s Maleficent makeup. They were so funny to watch and I got a few extra minutes of rest, thanks to this set up.
It’s pretty much impossible to expect four kids to look in the same direction, so this is the best group shot we got! Hudson was Ferdinand the Bull (maybe my favorite thing ever) and Vera was the cutest Minnie Mouse!
I put these two up on a rock wall for a few more photos — it was the only way to keep Polly from walking away! She barely cracked a smile the entire night, but seemed to enjoy the crowds and candy retrieval.
Sophie knew pretty early on what she wanted to be for Halloween this year. We bought the fancy horns and a feather boa for the neck piece, but otherwise stuck with simple items from her closet or things she could wear later on. I had a few people ask me who she was, but she was happily oblivious.
My mom bought Polly this felt pumpkin bucket at an antique fair on Saturday and it was perfect for her to drag around. She loves carrying a purse on her elbow, so this was nothing new. I bought her avocado costume at Kohl’s several weeks ago. I was looking for something comfortable and when I saw this, I couldn’t resist. Polly loves guacamole, so it seemed only fitting for her to be an avocado.
This trunk or treat is in the cutest little town about 20 minutes from our house. A local church sponsors it and they set up booths around the town square. It usually only takes about thirty minutes to complete, but my girls have always loved going. They have bounce houses, carnival games, and endless free popcorn (Sophie’s favorite part!).
I was so sad we couldn’t make it to the pumpkin patch this year, so when I spotted loads of pumpkins outside one of the storefronts, we decided to take a few pictures of Polly there. She ended up with a wet butt and did not want to be removed from her pumpkin perch.
Josh was carrying Polly out to the car and I jumped in front to snag a photo of them together and she covered her face?! I’m sure she was just playing peek-a-boo, but we laughed so hard at her and I never did get a picture of her uncovered.
