It is so hard to believe that August is here and that we’re starting school and saying goodbye to lazy summer schedules. Even though I work full time, I’m much less relaxed about my office hours and it’s nice to “pretend” that I’m on summer vacation, too. We’re embracing alarm clocks and meal plans and homework this week, and none of us are ready!
ordering | It’s crazy, but I’m ordering birthday invitations and cookies and cakes this week. We’ll be celebrating our littlest lady, one month from today, and we’re in full party planning mode.
watching | I just told Josh this week that we are living in the days of excellent television. We finally wrapped up season three of Stranger Things, I’ve been binging Friends with Ella, and we’re almost caught up on Yellowstone. I’m woefully behind on Handmaid’s Tale, but I’m hoping to catch up this week.
cooking | About this time, every year, I get crazy bored in the kitchen. We eat out too much, every summer, and it’s time to get things back on track. We did order an Instant Pot on Amazon Prime day, so I’m hoping to try a new IP recipe everything week, now that school has started. Any favorites I need to know about?
wondering | Honestly? I’m wondering how I ever managed to blog and parent and adult all at the same time, when the big girls were little. It’s like juggling ten bowling balls and I’m the worst at keeping them all in the air.
savoring | We’re savoring these last days of summer, since school is starting this week. It still feels like summer (and will for many months), so it’s easy to fool ourselves into thinking it’s not quite over. We’ve got plenty of time left for poolside dinners and playing outside — as much as I’m ready for cooler weather and cozy clothes, I’m not ready to spend all of our time inside!
