On my parents’ last day in Orlando, we braved Epcot Center. We had a few fast passes for Future World that morning and planned to spend the remainder of our day, eating our way through the World Showcase.
We decided to split up that day, and travel in smaller groups, since everyone’s priorities were a little different. My sister’s family did things geared for their young kids, Ella & Molly hung out with my parents, and we let Sophie be our tour guide for the day. She had so much fun planning our itinerary.
She had to pose with this unicorn in China, because she has two smaller versions of it and loves them. She begged for this one, but wasn’t willing to spend her own money on it, so we took a photo instead.
Since we didn’t see much of our family that day, it was fun to see their photos sneak into our Memory Maker app throughout the day! I loved this one of the girls with my parents.
And what says Italy like posing with a slice of pizza?!
One thing that Ella & Molly did that I loved was to spend their souvenir money on candy from each of the different countries. Some of it was really expensive (and weird!), but they were looking forward to a taste testing later that night.
This might be my favorite photo of the girls since Polly’s birth. I love these shirts of the girls and ordered Polly a matching onesie to take on our trip. Disney is the only place in the world where Ella is willing to match her sisters, so I had to get plenty of photos while I could.
Holly, Molly, & Polly. My mom has been asking for this photo op for months and we finally made it happen!
We had a candy eating party in our room that night and it was so funny to see them react. I really need to edit our videos from Disney, because I caught their reactions for every single piece and it was hilarious.
After getting my parents packed up and ready to head home, we spent Thanksgiving Day in Magic Kingdom. If you ever have the opportunity to spend a holiday in Disney World, I highly recommend it. We’ve done New Year’s Eve before and the excitement in the air is palpable. My sister’s family wanted to get a later start, so we decided to beat rope drop and be at the park an hour early. It was well worth our efforts — we were able to get six rides in before lunch on a very busy day!
Frontierland was first on our list, since we didn’t get to ride any of those rides on our first day. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was first and we were on and off in the first ten minutes of the day. We continued to ride things that we missed on Tuesday and I can’t think of a single thing we weren’t able to squeeze in.
While Josh took the big girls to ride Goofy’s Barnstormer, Polly and I spent the morning sitting outside the Storybook Circus. We shopped and nursed and napped and eventually met my sister for a photo op with Minnie and Daisy. We were kind of disappointed not to find Minnie in her polka dots, since the girls were matching, but the line was short and the characters were so sweet with our girls.
And now for my absolutel favorite photo from our trip. How stinking adorable is she?!
Since we missed the Thanksgiving Day parade on television for the first time ever, we made the afternoon parade on Main Street a priority. It meant waiting for about an hour to secure a good seat, but the kids were so patient and had a great time. By this time, Polly had made the switch to her Thanksgiving pajamas, because we knew it would be another late night.
After the parade, we spent some time in Tomorrowland, eating lunch and riding a few of our favorites. I made my sister snap this photo of my shirt because it was too funny not to share. I told Josh that I was sad nobody was as funny as me, because I didn’t get any comments on how great it was. Finally, right before we left, a man walked up and told me it was the funniest shirt he had seen all day. Success!
My sister does not do spinny things, so she yelled at me for making her do the Astro Orbiter with us. My girls both love it and were dying to find the hidden Mickey up top, so we couldn’t miss it.
After a spin on Prince Charming’s Regal Carrousel, we said goodnight to my sister’s family and hopped in line for Space Mountain one more time. It was the perfect way to end our day and our trip and we were all so sad to leave the park for the final time.
I know that not every man loves Disney World, but I am so thankful that Josh enjoys it as much as we do, especially considering how few rides he even enjoys. Within a few days, he was already asking when we could go back and if we could stay in a Disney property next time. We’ll be using a Disney planner for the very first time and I can’t wait to see how different that experience is. I’ll probably share a post later this year about how we’re planning and saving for this trip, so if you have any questions about that, please let me know!
