I’m loving that all of Polly’s first holidays are happening in the first few months of her life, but that also presents a few problems. We debated whether or not to even take her to the pumpkin patch this year, since she’s so young, but it is only a few miles from our house. Since I was still on maternity leave, Kamin and I were able to take them on a Monday afternoon, right after school. There were only a handful of families there, so we didn’t have to wait for much of anything.
These few photos crack me up. This is what it looks like when you try to get a photo of three kids in the sunshine. I hated that Polly wasn’t old enough to sit up in the wagon with Vera, but can you even imagine how difficult this would have been with four?!
I will forever be grateful for my sister for taking photos everywhere we go and these she sent me from our afternoon are no exception. I was wearing Polly in the Solly Wrap, which makes it difficult to take photos sometimes. I got most of the action, but the ones she took are so beautiful.
See the difference between the one I grabbed (above) and the one Kamin got (below)?! It’s fine, I’m happy to have a personal photographer follow me around all of the time!
Y’all know we never expected to expand our family, but I am so thankful that my sister and I are raising these little girls together. Vera and Polly will be a year apart in school, but they are less than a year apart and I know they will be the best of friends. Vera is already obsessed with Polly and gives her plenty of snuggles and hugs when we’re together.
Ella has grown so much in the last year and even though I know I could convince her to do plenty of “family things,” I’m trying to give her the space to grow out of them, too. She didn’t want to help with pumpkin picking this year, so we picked an afternoon when she already had plans. Sophie is still very much a little girl and loves tagging along on these adventures. She bridges the gap so well and we always have the best time together.
Polly slept through the entire trip, but at least I have these photos to prove she was there!
By the time we got back from the hayride with our pumpkins, Polly was starting to get fussy and ready to eat. The big kids were set on walking through the corn maze, so I headed home and left Sophie to hang out with my sister for a few more minutes at the farm.
We’re all ready for a little Christmas cheer in our home — and on the blog! — but we have one more post filled with fall photos to share. I’ll be back tomorrow with photos from our Halloween adventure!
