Dear Friday, I am so happy to see you. Every week feels like an eternity, at this point, and I feel like last weekend was forever ago. I only have twelve more days to report to the office and I’m marking them off with a big X, every chance I get.
Dear Anniversary, It’s crazy to think that I’ve been married for sixteen years. SIXTEEN YEARS?! We were such babies then and while so many things have changed, so many things are exactly the same.
Dear Blog Friends, Did you even notice that I pressed publish five times this week? It’s been a really long time since I managed to share a post with you every single day. It might not happen again for awhile, so I really hope you enjoyed it.
Dear Ella, You were such a champ this week. I know that transitioning to a new school and learning how to do everything all over again is hard, but I bet you rocked every second of it. You’ve tackled lockers, changing classes, dressing out for PE, riding the bus, heading into the wrong class after a surprise schedule change. Basically, you are rock star. After four days of school and your first week back at dance, you should probably take a nice long nap.
Dear Sophie, I knew you would love third grade. You were worried about being separated from your friends, anxious about unveiling a new haircut, and completely exhausted after a week of alarm clocks, but you’ve done amazing. I know that third grade will be a challenge, but I can’t wait to watch you thrive.
Dear Tapas & Tacos, I can’t wait to stuff my face with you tonight. We opted for a very low-key anniversary celebration, but conversations over guacamole is never a bad thing.
Dear Baby Belly, You look positively tiny in these photos and I remember thinking you were so big! I can’t believe how much you’ve grown in the last ten weeks and we still have a little less than four to go. You’re pretty heavy at this point and the movement has reached a violent stage, so I’m kind of looking forward to giving you the boot.
Dear Friends & Family, Thank you all so much for helping us celebrate baby last weekend. Surprises are not my love language, but you managed to pull it off without completely embarrassing me. We now have everything we need to greet this little one and still have one more shower on the books (Ella’s dance friends & moms are taking us out for tacos — again — on Sunday!).
Dear Husband, Thank you for always making me laugh, for picking up so much slack over the last eight months, and for never complaining that I’ve stopped cooking altogether. This isn’t exactly how I pictured our sixteenth wedding anniversary, but it’s turning out to be pretty perfect. Taking care of an infant at this age seems a little daunting, but there is no one I’d rather figure it out with than you. Thank you for loving me in all seven of my love languages (I kid… sort of), for knowing when to leave me alone, and for letting me have the most room in our big bed. I love you bigger than you’ll ever know.
Dear Virtual Friends, I’m so excited that you’re back here again this month. I hope that we can grow this little linkup together and learn all sorts of fun things about each other as we go.
Dear New Visitors, This is our favorite new linkup. The second Friday of every month, we’ll be sharing Little Letters together on our blogs. Write a series of letters to anyone or anything you’d like and come back here to link up. Don’t forget to share with your friends. This is one of those times where “the more, the merrier” definitely applies!
To link up, share the banner below, link back to this post, and invite your friends to play along. Don’t have a blog? Leave your letter in the comments of this post instead. We’ll share again on Friday, September 14th. See you then!
