I’m always amazed at how quickly months tick by now that I’m a grown up, but there is something about being pregnant that puts the calendar into overdrive! My family jokes that we spend our entire year anticipating June, so it’s really sad when our annual camping trip is over. I’ve gotten all of my photos edited (finally), so I’m hoping to share those with you all soon. It’s crazy to think that we’ve just embarked on the second half of this year. The first half was wonderful, but we have much to look forward to in the coming months.
celebrating | I’m celebrating the end of a nasty two week cold — being sick when you’re pregnant is miserable and not having full access to your medicine cabinet makes it even worse. I’m also celebrating the fact that I passed my gestational diabetes test, that my kitchen and laundry cabinets are finally cleaned out, and that we’re only nine weeks away from meeting baby — that’s single digits, folks?!
visiting | Yes, we just got back from vacation, but we’re headed back to the beach for a long weekend with Josh’s parents later this month. I didn’t get to go last summer (we had just brought Scoop home), so I’m really looking forward to this mini-vacation with my family. Bonus points that we’re only taking one car this time and I won’t have to drive at all!
baking | I’m not much of a baker, but I have been craving chocolate chip cookies this week. Leave me a link in the comments if you have a really good, tried and true recipe!
wearing | Maternity clothes are in full force at thirty weeks pregnant and I’m not planning to add anything else to my wardrobe except caftans and robes that will work well after baby’s arrival. Wet swimsuits are the devil, so on the weekends I’m either in the pool at all times or wearing one of Josh’s t-shirts. I did finally find the greatest maternity/nursing bras of all time this week (hello, Amazon), so I’ll be sharing those with you in an upcoming post. There is nothing worse than being rubbed raw from ill fitting bra bands, am I right?
loving | Is it okay to say I’m loving being pregnant? I know we were completely shocked to find out we were expecting and more than a little overwhelmed in the beginning, but I think this has been my most enjoyable pregnancy yet. Part of that is being in much better shape and continuing to workout during the entirety of this pregnancy, but much of it has to do with sharing this entire experience with the girls. I love that they are old enough to feel very invested in both the pregnancy and our newest addition, so it’s been super fun to answer their questions and include them in the nursery planning, name selection, and baby gear shopping.
