Being behind seems to be a theme in my life right now. It’s not that I’m not feeling well or am overwhelmed, it’s just that there is so much to do in this season of life. The school year is nearing a close and on top off all of the regular end of the year tasks, Ella has 5th grade graduation, so when you add OB appointments, house projects, and life — it starts stacking up. This is looking like a “two post a day” week, so buckle up for some much needed blog catch up.
celebrating | We are all busy celebrating the end of the year around here! The girls have only seventeen days of school left and they are both so eager for summer. Ella’s 5th Grade graduation is in a few weeks (what?!) and she is so excited to be moving on to middle school next year. The thing she’s probably celebrating the most is that she’ll have a phone (and Instagram!) of her own before the summer starts. She’s one of the last girls in her class to get connected, but we were firm in our decision to wait until middle school. It’s technically her birthday present (in September), but we’re letting her have it early to enjoy over the summer. Prayers are much appreciated!
creating | I’m still really enjoying participating in this year’s #100dayproject, over on Instagram. I’m only sharing a few pages on my feed, but I’m trying to keep you up to date in my stories. It’s been nice to slowly return to journaling in my Bible and it’s meant that the girls have been much more creative this month, too. Sophie got a new Bible for her birthday in April and that thing is already FULL of color. I’m not offering any criticism or advice and she’s just enjoying the process. I’ll try to snap some pictures this week and share an update on her Bible with you soon.
wearing | I’m wearing lots of maternity clothes these days, but a few of my regular pieces are still hanging on strong. Of everything I shared in this post, I’m still wearing every single piece that I kept. I also shared my new favorite dress on this blog this morning and linked up with some of my fellow Aventura Ambassadors. The Topanga Dress is one of my current favorites and it will be in heavy rotation over the summer. Breezy dresses and flat sandals are every expecting mama’s dream come true!
sharing | One question I keep getting is what items we’re buying for baby this time around. As a third time mama, I feel like I know more about what we’ll actually use with an infant, so we are majorly streamlining the process. I’ll probably have a small shower with friends and family — since we literally kept nothing of the girls’ — but I’m also working on a list of things that Josh and I will be buying for baby before September. Long story short: I’m working on a Links + Loves post to share Friday, full of great gift ideas for expecting mothers.
going | This is going to be a busy weekend, but I can’t wait! Ella has a dance competition in Chattanooga this weekend and it is something that she looks forward to every year. I love spending the weekend out of town with her and the time I get to spend with my favorite dance moms is a bonus. This year, it fell on the same weekend as my small group retreat and I have been so bummed. I’m lucky to have found such a wonderful group of girls to share my life with and I was so sad to be the only one not joining in the fun. As it turns out, Ella is only dancing on Sunday afternoon, so I’m headed to the lake with some of my best girls on Friday and will meet Ella in Chattanooga on Saturday afternoon. I know it’s going to make for an exhausting weekend and that the following week will be hard, but I’m hoping to get some solid rest on Monday and Tuesday to make up for it.
What are you up to currently?!
